Grandaisy Bakery
When it was time to name my bakery, I chose the name I used for grandmother, Grandaisy. Growing up she was everyone's grandmother, ready to share a great recipe, sit down for a game of canasta and tea, and, most importantly to me, truly supported and inspired my dreams. I can walk into Grandaisy Bakery every morning think of her and continue to be inspired by her life.

At Grandaisy Bakery we are all about bread, il pane. Our favorite motto is "all we knead is love." From the beginning it has been about making that special loaf you would go out of your way to buy to make your evening meal, your sandwich, your bruschetta, or whatever your inspiration, exceptional.
Services
Grandaisy Bakery has been making traditional Italian-style breads for over ten years. Our team of bakers comes from many backgrounds, but they all share years of experience and a passion for making delicious, handcrafted bread! All of our doughs start very simply: a mix of flour, water, salt and our natural sourdough starter.
Grandaisy Bakery specializes in making authentic, delicious Roman-style pizza in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. Our Roman-style pizzas are popular for a quick bite as well as perfect for events and catering. Move over Neapolitan pizza - we're here to tell you about your new favorite Italian flatbread.
Although Grandaisy Bakery's main specialty is our bread, our small pastry department will still wow you with our selection of Italian baked goods! Whether it's breakfast pastries, like the flaky lumaca, or our seasonal favorites like apple and pumpkin pies, you're sure to find something that will perfectly satisfy your sweet tooth!
Our office is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM every day, Monday-Sunday. During that time you can place orders for the next day for all breads except for those made with brioche dough, which require a 48 hour notice. In Manhattan, we deliver throughout the day, from early morning to late afternoon. In Brooklyn we currently only deliver in the morning.

The bakery is in walking distance from my apartment and it is highly rated so I decided to try it out. The pizza is supposed to be a must have and frankly it is the worst I've ever had. The pomodoro is tomato paste on tasteless soggy flatbread. For the holiday season they offered gingerbread which tasted like a cleaning solution. Completely disgusting. Yuk! As if that wasn't bad enough, the employees were unhelpful and rude.

Love coming here in the morning they make some tasty bakery items. Croissants and flatbreads, somewhat hidden in the back are my favorite items in the shop.

Enjoyable food and coffee. Had myself a calzone dolce and a cup of coffee with milk. Then I sat outside enjoying the people watching.

Hmm.. I am confused by the reviews.
Yes location is great. Love the quiet spot in the hubbub city noise.
But there was fruit flies early morning at 7 AM and didn't see fruits inside.
Anyways we ordered:
Double shot espresso- not too creamy, not good
Caramel latte- even with non fat milk too sweet
Chocolate croissant- it was so cold, so definitely not fresh. How can it be cold and hard 7AM in the morning. So not worth it. Can't be warmed also!!!!
The staff was so rude early morning. He didn't even look at us all through the time

Efficient. Two people in line in front of me, and I was being served within 2 minutes.
I do wish they had some type of menu, because it's a little tight to read what's in the sandwiches, while someone else is paying.

I picked up one of the turkey and arugula sandwiches, and a flourless chocolate muffin. The sandwich was "right sized" in saying it wasn't generous in portion, putting the $9.50 price tag as just a tad expensive, but I know people gotta pay the bills.

The sandwich was very good. The flourless chocolate muffin was exceptional. The staff were helpful

Not as good as it should be. I'm pretty sure they sold me yesterday's croissant today and the "lemon" pound cake was just sweet. Except for the staff I would give it a 2 star rating. Overpriced for the quality of the goods.

Love this spot!! This was recommend to me by a friend who used to live in NYC. I tried their funghi and cauliflower flatbreads. Both were so good! The funghi is seriously packed with mushrooms, and the cauliflower is flavored really nicely. Both were fantastic. Highly recommend!

This place has incredible pizzas! We were exploring the Pier 25 area and were looking to get a quick bite. We found this spot, and are so thankful we did. It's a little place located on the corner of W Broadway and Beach St. We tried four of their pizzas: the cauliflower, mushroom, zucchini, and butternut squash. They were absolutely incredible! Even our toddler was a huge fan. Their iced americano was also well done. The coffee tasted great. All in all, if you're in Tribeca, give this place a shot!

Oh my God, Grandaisy Bakery was really something else. Sooooo good and very well priced. Everything that I have tried was really good and I would come back to have it again! Workers are really lovely and service is very fast. I will certainly return to Grandaisy Bakery when I'm in the area again.

The three star is for the baked goods. I order from here because it's a woman founder and some of their baked goods are very well made, simple comfort, not overly decorated. For NYC bakery the price is reasonable to be fair rent is high! Now customer service is alright, they do their job but not above and beyond, except for one young dark skin lady -apology I don't know her name; four stars; possibly works Friday afternoons. She is professional and kind, especially when her colleague was less than. I am glad someone mentioned the Latin gentleman in another review site; he might be a manager

We get fresh bread here super early in the morning. It's wondrous and the absolute best treat ever. There's a little park with benches you can wait or eat at across the street. Everyone raves about it anytime I bring it over.

We were so sad when Grandaisy left the UWS a few years ago, so of course we were overjoyed to remember the downtown location on one of those Sundays when we just didn't know what to nosh on.

Our beloved pizzas were just as delicious as we remembered. The toppings are golden on the outside and soft on the inside. There's a perfectly salty goodness balanced by the occasional fresh herb. Crust is perfectly crisp and never stiff or soggy-floppy (the two cardinal sins of pizza crust).

Although I have found similarly tasty pizzas at an establishment more conveniently located to me on 47th

I go here once a week. I love the bread but recently they’ve been over cooking it and one doesn’t realize that till you get home. I don’t know about you but I can’t eat a whole loaf of bread in two days, which is how long the bread lasts before it becomes way too hard to eat. I always end up throwing out half.
Side note, the coffee is garbage.

Randomly decided to stop by this bakery because we saw that they had a few catering trucks so it must be good? Glad we did. We wanted a simple snack as we were planning to walk around. This bakery was near our bus stop from Philly.
Just got an almond croissant and it was made well! A bit too much powdered sugar on the outside but it ended up not being too sweet. Good almond paste inside. They also have a selection of flat breads and a few other pastries.
Some seating and standing tables in bakery.
Nice staff.

3.5 stars. I grabbed a slice of cauliflower pizza to hold off the hunger pains.

Staff was not super helpful and the pizza slice was kind of pricey, but it did taste pretty good. It would probably taste even better warmed up.

I probably wouldn't return based on price and service, but I might try to recreate the pizza at home sometime.

Review for a pickup! Ordered my breakfast before work and it was ready for pickup extremely fast. The line was a tad long but I realized later I shouldn't have waited in line but picked it up at the small window per directions

I ordered a latte and a Zucca flat bread. The latte was good and so was the Zucca flat bread. The Zucca flat bread had the perfect hint of sweet from the sweet potato and the bread was the perfect crispy but they could prolly go a little easy on the oil in the flat bread. It was a tad greasy and napkins weren't included with my order.

Rockstar place! No kidding. I was about to go into the burnt-bean paradise cuz I didn't know of anything else in the neighborhood. I caught this little corner place out of the corner of my eye.
The coffee is superb. Real coffee. Baked goods (apple turnover) this-morning fresh, tasty, and priced right. Gonna take home some bread.
Besides baked goods, they have a great selection of inventive, good sandwiches. Generous portion for the $. The staff is first-rate - super friendly and efficient.
I love the location, too. Tucked slightly off 6th ave in Tribeca with a view of Tribeca Park, nice green

By far my favorite bakery in Manhattan. If you have ever had bread at Aria/Terra/Cotenna and thought that it was amazing, it was the “filone” from Grandaisy. They are truly masters at their craft.
While the majority of their business is clearly fueled by wholesale (they supply bread all over the city and have an absolutely massive kitchen), their retail location is charming with phenomenal coffee (by Illy) and other baked goodies. Make sure to try the flatbread, as all of the locals will fight you for the last piece of potato rosemary pizza.
On top of the delicious food, the staff is always

Roman pizza isn't easy to find in NY. There's only a few places that do it outright, let alone right. One happens to be my office, so I decided to check out Grandaisy. Slices here are served cold which can be off putting but is typical for bakeries who make this kind of pizza. There were ~6 options of which all were veggie-heavy. Price was reasonable and while the pizza wasn't fresh out of the oven, it was sliced fresh.

The tomato slice was slather in a heavy tomato paste. It was alright but very one-note in terms of flavor. It was better at first but I grew tired of it by
