Our story began in 1978 when owner Dan Smith planted a vineyard on a rolling hillside in Crow, Oregon. After a hard day of work he looked out over the vineyard and noticed the curious shape of the land - and he christened the vineyard Sweet Cheeks. At this point starting a winery was only a dream. He continued to farm the land, supplying Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling grapes to local wineries.
When a building in Junction City came up for demolition in 2003, Dan took a chance and relocated it atop the vineyard. Thanksgiving of 2005 those doors opened as our tasting room and marked the beginning of Sweet Cheeks Winery & Vineyard. We invite you to experience our beautiful winery, nestled among the green rolling hills at the top of Briggs Hill Road - looking out over the vineyard and valley below.

Services
Winemaking in the Willamette Valley is unique. Each year brings different flavors and qualities to our wines. We believe in minimal processing to allow each wine to express its authentic flavor profile. Our estate-grown fruit includes Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling. We are constantly expanding our selection to include new varietals through loyal relationships with select Oregon vineyards.
Please email our Event Coordinator, Taylor Spierling with any questions or for private event options. Enjoy the casual elegance of our tasting room and take some time to slow down and savor the moment. We have a range of experiences to connect you with our wines, and encourage advance reservations to make the most of your experience.

One of our favorite places to go during a sunny weekend in Eugene. The views are unbeatable and we love the casual and unpretentious atmosphere. It's fun to go for an afternoon and bring a picnic of your own treats. They also have a fews snacks available there. They have a wide range of wines to suit all taste preferences, I love their sparkling option and my mom is a huge fan of their rosy cheeks and always brings a bottle home when she visits. You can always do a tasting if you are feeling indecisive. Their can be a lot of bees outside, so keeping food covered when not eating is a must.

Highly recommend the drive through the Oregon wine valley and stopping here. The views are spectacular. We got the Autumn seasonal flight taster and thoroughly enjoyed trying there wines. We got a bottle of the Chardonnay and 2017 Pinot Noir to take home for thanksgiving. The staff are extremely friendly and you get a real family owned and run vibe. We will definitely look to purchasing more wine from here.

Wedding planner here! Just wanted to give some love to Taylor and the rest of the team for all their work and kindness! I worked a wedding there yesterday and the team went above and beyond from helping me with set-up to constant check-ins to see how myself and the rest of the team were doing! It was an absolute pleasure and I look forward to working there again!

Lovely views from the restaurant. It's worth going just for that. We went to have a taste of some flights. The reds were good but I was expecting more. Being a visitor perhaps I just needed more time in Oregon to develop an appreciation of Oregon wines. The cheese, cracker and jelly tray was high priced for what it was.

This was my first experience at this winery, although many of my family and freinds enjoy their time here every summer. Girls get together, Birthdays, Wedding parties, anniversaries, dates...
My first experience was disappointing.
When we arrived , my girls were seated while I drove the car to the lower parking, since the upper one had only 1 handicap spot, and walked back up. We had brought our own food, fruit , cheeses and crackers ... per prior visits, it's allowed. So I dropped my party off. And while I do have a handicap parking due to my business, I do not use it, since I'm

We had my granddaughter’s graduation party here last week Monday. The winery’s atmosphere and location are outstanding. And the wine is superb. The Sauvignon Blanc is excellent: not too sweet, dry and mildly scented of grapefruit. And the Pinot Noir was excellent. I had the Syrah before and it was great as well. This winery should be on every wine lovers to visit list.

Our server Marilyn was outstanding. The tasting room was very well designed with both open and covered areas to enjoy tasting their selections. Wine club memberships are available and I recommend for those wanting discounts and having a great place to share with family and friends. The winery offers a variety of reds and whites with a sparkling wine as well. They have some estate wines as well as aged selections. For those of you who are less thrilled about wine tasting they offer a couple of beers on tap and a cider produced at the estate. All in all a great place for family and friends, dont

After spending a significant amount of money to have an event at this place, they refused to pour glasses of wine for us after we all had only one glass. The manager was rude and condescending to our party and I will never be coming back here again. If you would like to have an awful to marginal time at a winery, sweet cheeks is the place.

If you've never experienced Sweet Cheeks Winery, you need to give this place a try. While I think their wine is just above-average (and take that for what it's worth, I certainly do not have a refined palate) the views are what sets this place apart. Sitting high on a hillside overlooking a valley, this views are simply spectacular. They have a VERY large patio and also have indoor covered areas as well for when the weather isn't so enjoyable. Sweet Cheeks allows you to bring your own food as well which is another plus making this a great spot for families or picnics. They also have

This is a local favorite for people who have never been to the area. It's one of the more scenic wineries in the greater Eugene region and they have some really nice wines to choose from. You can also bring your own picnic and eat on property grounds (or at least I've been able to do this in the past--always a good idea to call before hand and confirm what their policy is).
That being said, a lot of people tend to stick with this winery and never branch out. Again, it's a lovely winery, but it's surrounded by lots of smaller wineries which are absolutely worth the venture.
