Eastern Healing's Founder, Peter Harvey is an experienced licensed acupuncturist and an accomplished professional in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Although considered "alternative" medicine, here in the Western Hemisphere, Eastern Healing is focused on treating the patient by finding the cause of their primary discomfort.
The tools we use to correct these problems are acupuncture, herbal therapy, lifestyle adjustments and Chinese massage. In our Joliet and Wheaton acupuncture clinics, you are greeted as a patient with a thorough diagnostic interview as the initial step in the process designed to design a treatment specific to your individual needs.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a set of ancient practices that help the body heal itself. At Eastern Healing, we treat patients in our Wheaton and Joliet offices using a variety of TCM techniques for various medical conditions, pain, and infertility. Our natural fertility treatment plans are customized to meet individual needs and maximize results.
After 15 years in the legal field, Patty left her career to become a full-time mother in 2002 when she had her first child. In 2004, she had baby number two. She came to work at Eastern Healing part-time in 2005. Patty loves interacting with all the patients and going through the healing journey with them.
Breast cancer is all too common among women (and some men) today. At Eastern Healing we provide breast cancer support to patients in Joliet, Wheaton and throughout the Chicago area in an effort to promote healing and wellness in the body while reducing the negative symptoms and side effects many patients experience when undergoing chemotherapy or other treatment for cancer.
Endometriosis is a condition that affects approximately 5% to 10% of women of child-bearing age, often resulting in infertility. At Eastern Healing we provide natural endometriosis treatment to women in Joliet, Wheaton and the Chicago area who want relief from this painful disorder and desire to restore health.

I am 39 years old and decided on acupuncture with Peter after 2 miscarriages earlier in the year. After treatments once a week for less than 2 months (and nutrition, vitamin, and herbal recommendations), I'm pregnant! Peter provides advice and medical care above and beyond what is expected. Thanks to Peter we are parents today to a beautiful baby girl! I can not thank him enough for what he did for us! If I could leave 20 stars I would because Peter's work is extraordinary and I recommend this place to everybody. He is not only a great specialist but also a regular guy who is very pleasant to talk to and it always amazes me how calm he is. I went there few months after my wife got help with infertility for high blood pressure and kidney stones which I have on regular basis every 4-5 months - both resolved. I started seeing Dr. Peter when I was feeling pain in my hands and feet. I was almost at the point of not able to function and had not been diagnosed with any illness. During my initial evaluation, Dr. Peter stated "I know what is wrong, I can help you and you are going to be okay!". I started weekly treatment and could feel the pain draining away during my visits. I started going to Eastern Healing as a referred patient for a subchorionic bleed while 8 weeks pregnant. While skeptical of acupuncture at first (does it work?, hurt?, etc.), I felt it wouldn’t hurt to try anything to help save my baby. October 2019 was my first appt. it lasted about 2 hours. Peter and a student asked some questions about my health history and at the 2nd or 3rd appt.(cant remember) he gave me a list of things to add to my diet and gave me some tips on how to massage my stomach. When I came to visit Peter I was at the end of my rope, I had been to doctor after doctor trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with me and how to effectively treat my symptoms. One the very first visit Peter listened, I mean really listened, like no doctor or medical professional I had ever visited. He was able to form an opinion as to what was wrong and how to treat me. Can't say enough good things about this place. I've gone in for several injuries that physical therapists, doctors, and chiropractors couldn't heal. Within a month, Peter healed them all. I owe my diet change and shift in thinking to Eastern Healing.

Peter is by far the best and most knowledgeable acupuncturist I have ever seen. So much so that I drove from the city to the burbs twice a week just to see him! What sets Easter Healing apart from other acupuncturists is Peter's knowledge and understanding of the human body and his overall technique. I have been seeing Dr. Peter for about a year and a half now. After about 6 months of trying to get pregnant and being diagnosed with pcos, I wanted to use natural remedies before going through fertility treatment. I was amazed at my first meeting with Dr. Peter that he had asked for my blood work and lab results from the doctor. He had recommended books to read, vitamins to take, and a diet to follow. IF I COULD GIVE A HUNDRED STARS I WOULD. I started going to Peter about 8 years ago with migraines and stomach issues. Peter exceeded my expectations. He really helped me a lot and to this day has been a very important person in my life.
Before I was diagnosed from my surgeon with Endometriosis, Peter had told me he thought that was a possibility. It had taken my doctor two years to figure that out. Peter and staff have been patient and caring over the past few years I have been treated at Eastern Healing. I originally sought support for chronic headaches and full body pain. Having never had acupuncture before, I sought out Eastern Healing for several issues I was having. I found Peter, his staff, his office and his services to be extremely beneficial. While expensive, I believed in the sessions and the services, and would happily go back. Both my mental health (particularly a reduction in my stress level) and my chronic pain issues have improved since starting acupuncture with Peter in 2011. That hour of quiet with the needles really makes a difference in the rest of my week. I have never had acupuncture before going to Eastern Healing. I have gone regularly for the past year and a half. It has made such a difference in my health and overall wellbeing. I have suffered with PCOS for almost 20 years. I was uncertain if my husband and I would be able to naturally conceive after trying to get pregnant for over a year. We are thrilled that we are 9 weeks pregnant! I know that Peter's care through acupuncture and the use of Chinese herbs helped make that possible. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else.
