Adventure Fitness Athletic Club (AFAC) is a locally owned and operated gym in Thornton, Colorado. AFAC is the life's passion of owner Susan Schaffner, a Colorado native who wants each member of the gym to feel like they're an important part of our fitness family. After having bariatric surgery in 2005, Susan's dream has been to help people of all ages and fitness levels improve their health and wellness.
At Adventure Fitness Athletic Club, one of the most exciting features of our gym is our Recovery XR Cryotherapy Chamber by Cryo Innovations. This single-person use chamber is regarded as the safest, most technologically advanced whole-body cryotherapy treatment available. To make an appointment, all you need to do is contact our gym in Thornton.
Challenging-Our classes will ramp up your cardio and target all your muscle groups with some solid strength training. At Adventure Fitness Athletic Club, all of our fitness classes are led by our team of highly qualified and certified personal trainers and other fitness professionals who will be there to answer your questions and ensure you get the most out of every class.
At Adventure Fitness Athletic Club, our members work hard to stay fit by maintaining a nutritious diet and regular exercise program. While these efforts are very effective, it can still be challenging to know whether you're making progress toward your fitness goals. That's why AFAC has an InBody 770 Body Composition Analyzer at our Thornton gym.
The staff at Adventure Fitness Athletic Club will help you purchase and register your belt. The MYZONE package includes 1 belt, 1 charger cable, 1 MYZONE bracelet and 1 MYZONE MZ-3 snap-on computer. Absolutely love this gym! Cleanest gym you will find around, and best maintained! They are always keeping things up to date and adding new equipment as well. Some of which is really unique too. The owner Susan and the manager Mike are super friendly and really makes sure everyone is happy here! This isn’t the typical “gym”. When you come to AFAC you are treated like family!

AFAC is a superb and intimate location for meeting your fitness goals! I swear you can eat off the floor it’s always so clean. All of their equipment is TOP of the line. If you belong to one of the big box gyms, you are missing out on a truly excellent athletic and fitness experience. I’ve been a member here for 4 years and can say nothing less than exceptional things about the facility and the owners. It’s all good!

This is the best gym I have ever set foot in. It is super clean with every piece of equipment you can imagine. I have never had to wait for a machine. It offers a large variety of classes led by trainers who have all been friendly, professional, and fantastic at what they do. Other gym members have been welcoming and encouraging. Not a single person has made me feel intimidated to try new classes or machines. The owner and general manager are extremely friendly and communicative. I cannot say enough how much I have enjoyed this gym and how helpful it has been to me as I try to regain my health
