At Smileworks Youth Dentistry, we love being able to help and interact with children every day. We think it keeps us young at heart too! Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your children to create a friendly, fun, and professional dental experience every time you visit our practice.
Dr. Steven Clute is originally from Anderson, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Ball State University in 1999. Then he attended dental school at Indiana University, where he served as vice president of his dental class. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003 and went on to practice in a family dentistry office in Anderson.
Dr. Jennifer Taylor is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. She moved to Fort Wayne in 2006 to pursue her passion for providing dental treatment to children and young adults. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology from Indiana University in 2001, and in 2005 her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Our practice is committed to providing your child with safe, gentle, fun, and friendly dental care. We understand that children may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to their needs and we strive to make your child's visit comfortable and fun while providing the best care possible.
The cost of treatment may vary, depending on your child's individual needs and treatment plan. We will discuss the cost of treatment and your available payment plan options with you before your little one begins treatment, so you can make the best choice for yourself and your child. Our office gladly accepts Medicaid for your children's dental care.

I was very pleased with the service my child received at the dentist. The staff is wonderful, passionate and respectful. I have worked in health care for 40 years and I am so delighted that this dentist has a wonderful bedside manner. Which mean he known how to make you feel like you can trust him. Office staff was friendly and were quick on getting to my son back to be seen and also did great job on cleaning his teeth. Gave me some piece in knowing what was going on and what needed to be done.The dentist that did my son's caps was quick and efficient and was able to save his tooth. Great experience

Dr. Steve and staff are amazing. My 5 year old son had cavities needed taken care of. They were helpful in getting him in quickly. During his procedure dr. Steve sang to him and the staff kept talking to him. Unfortunately Dr had to pull a tooth but my son didn't even know it was taken out. That's how great they were. They made him feel so comfortable and couldn't be happier. Would reccomend smile works to any worried mommy like me because they will ease your mind with their kindness.

My 6 year old needed a tooth pulled, and a spacer put in, so I was referred because of the complexity of it, combined with the age of the kid.
Dr. Steve and staff were amazing, and went above and beyond.
They provided a fun environment, and did a great job of throughly explaining what’s going to happen, so me and the child felt comfortable.
Everyone who works there is kind, and helpful.
Arrive a little before your appointment to make sure you’re in on time, but that should go without saying.

My two year old daughter went for her first dental appointment last week and we weren't sure what to expect for her first time so we were nervous. When we got there the office staff was very warm and friendly and made our little girl feel comfortable from the start. After only a very short wait we were taken back by the hygienist who made our daughter feel very comfortable while she fully explained the procedure to us and our daughter. Three years ago, my daughter had a horrible experience at a Dentist’s office. Just going in for a cleaning has always a huge ordeal. The new Dentists we would see would get frustrated and annoyed by her anxiety and would not hide it at all.
Being referred to “Smile Works” saved my daughter from a lifetime of anxiety about going to the Dentist. They have been nothing but patient with her. They even took time to explain what tools were being used and why. She had two filling done today and literally skipped down the hall to the room!

I had an emergency situation with my 15 y/o daughter. She was injured at school and needed immediate attention. Not only did the staff work her in pretty quickly, their service was OUTSTANDING. They made sure she was comfortable, explained every step to us throughout the process. Please note that this was NOT her dentist office, but it is now. Very grateful to the entire staff for making this frantic mom at ease, and helping to restore my baby girls beautiful smile!
