Newport Power Yoga
Newport Power Yoga was created in Newport, Rhode Island for people to have a space to transform their body, mind and whole life through the practice of yoga. Open 7 days a week, we offer a range of classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced yoga practitioners. We also have private classes, yoga for children and workshops for runners, golfers and students interested in deepening their yoga practice.

We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful studio located in the heart of Newport (on the corner of Bellevue & Memorial Avenues). Making yoga accessible, affordable and fun is our mission. We believe anyone can practice yoga because it's very natural. Whether you run marathons or haven't done a pushup in twenty years, yoga will improve your life.
Services
Before starting yoga, please consult your physician to ensure that you are physically fit and have no medical condition which would prevent your safe participation in yoga classes at Newport Power Yoga. By creating an online account, you can reserve space in yoga classes and workshops, review your visit history and make purchases.
If you need to leave class early, please tell the instructor before class and exit quietly so you don't disturb other students. If you feel any pain or are straining while doing yoga, please back off and take a break. Yoga is one of the most natural things you can do for your body and mind. It should be challenging, yet approachable.
A Power Vinyasa based class for ALL students - from beginners to advanced yogis. Instructor will offer modification options throughout the class to increase or decrease the intensity depending on each student's ability. Heat (90° to 95°) and steam added to facilitate mobility. Newport Power Yoga studio is located in Newport, RI at 112 William Street (2nd Fl), on the corner of Memorial and Bellevue Avenues.

Excellent studio! Love the yoga here. My only gripe is that it's not closer to my house.

First of all this place has great instructors and love the advanced heated classes...but needs work inside. Wrong floors for the hot yoga they do , laminated and old which is all peeling in places. Bathrooms are dirty. No showers (again this is HOT so you can imagine the sweaty mess post class). No water fountain (this can be installed and charge members to fill which would cover cost). Paint dirty and flaking. Smelly used sponges to clean mats instead of clean reusable cloths. The owners just need to invest and spruce this place up a bit. Maybe I’m being bias cause I’ve been to many studios

While visiting Newport, I went to the $5 community classes Tuesday - Thursday so I can’t speak for the regular classes.
Some of these classes are advertised as ‘All Levels’ but you need to have a more than just a basic understanding of yoga to know what poses to go into or you will be left in the dust trying to follow the class. Luckily, I could keep up but it also didn’t help that the teachers are mainly there to direct your flow and they hardly bothered to demonstrate a pose unless more than half were unfamiliar with the Sanskrit name. Also, these classes are HEATED! Please do yourself

Poorly advertised classes. It's hot yoga without saying so. My second time going and the 7 pm class had two people besides me. The instructor wasn't doing any of the moves or providing any instruction. I had to look at the person next to me several times to figure out where I should be. I've had better yoga from apps. There was no music, just poses being called out in a monatone voice. 👎👎
Thames St yoga is excellent for anyone looking for vinyassa. I shouldnt have strayed.

This studio is very difficult to find. When we found the place I came in with two friends of mine to get information on the studio and to sign up. The women at the front were unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. Did I mention condescending? I was explaining my connection with CorePower yoga and the instructor present made a jab at them for being "scripted" and other such unnecessary comments. Super unprofessional and low vibration to trash other styles of yoga. The building smells like old sweat and the feeling inside the studio does not match any yoga community I've been to. I am really disappointed

It doesn’t say this on the schedule but every class is heated - thought I finally found a lunch time yoga class I could do on a workday, very disappointing. Website should be clearer and they should have refunded what I paid for the class.

Visiting RI and paid $15 online. Got to the studio and asked about a senior discount which is $11 and was told it was too late to get a discount, if I paid online. (There is no such information about this online.) I was then charged $1 to rent a mat. Took me most of the class to get over being annoyed at the lack of customer service. The gentleman in front of me was questioning his payment information and wasn't given the correct information. After the class he still was wondering and the instructor looked it up and gave him an answer that he was satisfied with. Newport Power Yoga - pay attention
