Update: Mr Smith even had the audacity to say I still owed him money. The only thing he ever submitted to the courts was paperwork that was not accurate. he couldn't even remember my name nor the fact that I was getting divorced and had joint conservative ship with my ex. he kept on saying that they were my biological children with my ex.

Absolutely do NOT use this Law Office. The Law Office of Douglas C. Smith had me invest thousands as a retainer in February, and has had poor communication with me and absolutely zero communication with the Oklahoma court my case originated out of. I entrusted Mr. Smith with the safety and future of my children, as well as my peace of mind. According to the El Paso County website, my case was set for dismissal at 0830 this morning due to lack of movement. I am absolutely floored that this happened.

I can’t begin to express what a great attorney Mr. Smith is. I have been dealing with an out of state divorce for almost two years. Mr. Smith was able to accomplish what I had been trying unsuccessfully to do with other lawyers. He is honest. He is extremely knowledgeable about Texas family law. Mr Smith was initially very friendly and seemed like he would be very helpful. I have a child support enforcement and modification case. I paid the initial $2200 retainer and then his office forgot to notify my ex about the court date, so the date was pushed back several months (meanwhile, all of this time I have still not received any child support payments). For the second court date, I had to contact his office and remind them to notify my ex about a week ahead of time because they still had not done it! The divorce was quick, easy. I did have issues with the process servers not serving my husband and at times communication was difficult. The lawyer was extremely friendly though I only saw him once, and his paralegal(s) were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you need a quick easy divorce, please use this lawyer.
