This place is amazing. I was searching high and low for a reasonable graduation venue for about 100 people. The owners Marcela and JC worked with me and asked exactly how much I wanted to spend per head. They work with your budget to create a menu. They worked with my fundraised class budget and it was an awesome menu for the price. We got appetizers, a salad, and 2 entrees. it also included sodas and coffee. It was family style and lovely! They have an outdoor patio and they supply the tables, chairs, table cloth, linens, vases etc. the only thing I got myself were flowers and balloons and she

Another fantastic evening, was seated inside per request, comfortable warm seating.
Outside a live band playing . I chill in the night air, but inside is nice.
Ordered the mussels and clams. Is a must have. Request for some extra bread. I was ripping up the bread into smaller pieces to soak up the broth.
The Lomo Saltado was in the menu. This is one dish here that will not disappoint . Shoe string fries , tender beef and rice .
I had the white clam pizza. Succulent clams with white sauce over a tender pizza crust. I am glad I didn't finish it because it was even better the next day

Huge thanks to Marcella, JC and the whole team at JC Bruno for making last night unforgettable! I booked the outdoor patio for a surprise 50th party and had a wonderful group of family and friends. The food was outstanding, the service top-notch and Mauricio, the singer/entertainer was the absolute best (especially because he reminded everyone it was a 28th birthday party )

We made reservations 2 weeks ago for three people on a Saturday. Marcela seemed rushed on the phone and only asked for my name but no number which I thought was a bit odd. Because of the reviews mentioning that they showed up and were told there were parties going on so they could not be seated, we made sure to call to confirm our reservation the day off. Marcela asked when we made our reservation and for how many people. It was completely obvious that she has no idea we had made reservations. We told her the info and she then told us that she had a big party going on and if that was okay. We asked

Awful experience at JC San Bruno www.jcbrunorestaurant.com. Bad service. Had to beg for water and got food poisoning due to bad clams. Oh, and our server? The owner. Marcela. It took forever for her to take our order and when she finally decided it was time, her greeting was "Go ahead." How is that a way to treat a customer?! To be frank, we have just been sitting there and not causing a scene and looking for simple service.

Overall, the starters were very tasty and satisfying. My favorite was the escargot, pairs very well with the bread they give you. The crab cakes were quite small portioned, but it's more than enough for two.
The main courses were kind of just "Okay" The rack of lamb was a bit on the bland side and the sauce's tartness didn't go too well with the gamey flavor for the lamb. The sides that went with the rack of lamb weren't all that special as well.
The filet mignon was very tender and cooked well. Again the sides were kind of bland and not as good as it could be.

Food was delicious, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Decent options and variety the rack of lamb was perfectly. The pizza was big but lacked good flavor and the veggies were a little under cooked for pizza and the chicken was a little bland. Decent beer and wine options with fairly attentive server. We did go in about 30 after they opened on a Friday so it was a little bit of a slow start. We'll be going back to try some other options.

We waited a year to make reservations for our anniversary and made the reservations about a month ago. I dropped my wife out front so she could check in while I found parking, she was told "oh no, there are no reservations tonight because there is a private party". They had my phone number and I would think I would get a call to let me know(would have made other plans), I will not be going back and if you make reservations,check back in with them! For a allegedly great place and as a restauranture you would think you would get treated better.

Sorry for saying this, unlike other places where appetizers are needed, not at JC Bruno, portions are HUGE!
We ordered:
Buratta Salad- still in the fridge, who wants to eat a salad first when your staring down the entrees below.
Cheese Burger- So BIG! And loved the shoestring fries. We got the bun on the side since my wife is GF with no issue. Came with a nice aioli.
Diver Scallops and Bacon wrapped Prawns: scallops were AMAZING!! So rich but on a stormy night it was perfect. Came with a mash and carrots that were perfectly cooked!
So yeah we forgot about the salad..

Another incredible meal. We really wanted lobster linguini (like all 3 of us were going to order it), but it was not available. They have/had a rotating weekly menu when it was take-out only, so we specifically chose Saturday for dinner, but it may be different now that the Covid regulations have been modified, so check with the restaurant to see what is offered.
We finally decided on cioppino and 2 of us had boullabaise. And of course escargot and their famous tuna tartare with avocado as starters. Did not disappoint. I don't know how JC does it, but the seafood is always cooked to perfection

Made reservations for my mom and I for my birthday and so glad I did. We were a bit late due to finding parking, but they were very nice about it. It was PACKED for dinner. Inside is a bit small and crowded, but not uncomfortable. It can get a bit loud, but never too loud. Looking from other tables, the food looked super good and we were excited for ours. We ordered the house salad and mussels to start, the scallops and bouillabaisse for entrees, and tiramisu for dessert.

Yah, this unsuspecting place is top notch. The dishes are like what you'll find at high end restaurants in the city without the price nor parking problems.
Have been a few times and service is always friendly and with a smile. Had the lobster pasta which was creamy and came with loads of lobster chunks. Yum. Also had a daily special, the steak Diane. Came with delicious mash.
Sparkling wine selection is nothing to shout about but they pack a few good wines at the bar.
If you are looking for a good American/California style meal, this place will not disappoint.

This place is charmingly unhip. It presents itself as an old school fine dining establishment and on that it delivers. From the elevator music, to the mustard-colored tufted bench seats, everything about this place communicates that it's the food that's interesting. And the food was uniformly excellent with enough of the chef's touch to be creative without getting weird about it. A lovely dining experience.
