Food overload. I would say if you want a ton of alright filipino food for a decent price this is it. I would say the food is good. However, it's just very greasy and heavy. I think that's how they get you from not eating so much because I love to eat but after eating a couple plates you feel completely overwhelmed by the grease. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathroom could be a bit more tidy.

Love the escargot but had a very bad experience when I ordered “fresh buko juice” (young coconut juice).
It tasted soo sour (off taste) that I spat it out on my first sip. The lady kindly said she’ll replace it but I said no thanks.
This turned me off all the other drinks they may have in their kitchen and I couldn’t eat anything else as it left a bad after taste in my mouth.
I was just on my starters when the incident happened so I was really disappointed.

A good buffet if you like Filipino food. They have delicious Kare Kare and kapampangan food but they are not as tasty and high quality years ago for they lower they price in order to compete with the new mall buffets like vikings and sambokujin.
Food is nor bad, it is decent enough to satisfy your Filipino food cravings.
Cabalen is good for celebrations in budget like birthdays and christening or if you just want to eat a lot without breaking the bank.
Megamall cabalen is more expensive compared to other cabalen of about 100 pesos but they have better food and service.

Serves a variety of Filipino dishes. Value for your money if you're into eat-all-you-can. Not crowded when we came. You can eat till you drop! I just wish the staff sees to it that the foods quality are well-maintained. When we tried the lechon, it's not warm or crunchy anymore. Hard to bite. Escalator is just a few steps away.

Whenever my parents are in town, we end up eating at Cabalen. I don't know why - we can cook the same fare at home and not worry about paying, but we still eat here. Maybe it's tradition. Maybe we just got used to the idea, and like mice conditioned to fulfill a certain directive when faced with particular stimuli, we respond. Or maybe it's the food, because let's face it, the food here is amazeballs.
The cuisine is classic Kapampangan, I think - either way, every single dish is a delight to eat. And once you've gone through all of the viand choices, they also have classic
