Dr. Sell grew up near White Bear Lake and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was eleven years old. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She has lived and practiced in the St. Michael-Albertville area since then.
She very much enjoys the long-term relationships that she has established with clients, and the satisfaction that comes from providing care from a pet's first exam throughout its entire life.Her special practice interests are preventive health care, internal medicine, and geriatric medicine. Her husband is also a veterinarian, with his own large-animal practice.

We've been using BFVC for our dog since she was a puppy. (She's almost 4 now) She needed some emergency care and, despite them being super busy, Kelsey Johnson got her in right away and took the best care of our doggo. You really can tell that they care about your animal and their pricing seems very reasonable.

All the doctors here are very attentive, they follow through with check ins and call backs. I never have to call them to get updates. They have longer appointments than most clinics and they take their time with you so you don't feel rushed. Everyone there is extremely nice, they have great attitudes, and love animals. We recently had our dog's toe amputated and they went above and beyond. They got her in quickly, they kept me updated the day of surgery, they made sure I had everything I needed when I went home. They checked in on us over the weekend and returned phone calls quickly the following

I brought my new Teddy Bear Puppy there 1 week ago and had the most WONDERFUL experience!! Dr. Kelsey Johnson was super friendly & personable! She spent time with me in the parking lot, in a mask, telling all… about how my little Lucy checked out for her 1st appointment there! Wow factor for sure🤩🤩🤩!! Next was my vet tech Julie Evensen🥰 She is AWESOME!! Julie is super knowledgeable, didn’t tire of my endless questions, even when I asked her to repeat instructions multiple times, LOL 😂.... yes, this new puppy Mama was/is a tiny bit overwhelmed

I am so thankful for Best Friends Veterinary. We brought our dog to his regular vet and were unable to get a diagnosis for him. We brought him into Best Friends for a second opinion and were told, from the x-rays taken at our regular vet, that he had a mass on his liver. Best Friends referred us to Blue Pearl for surgery. After his surgery Best Friends worked him into their schedule for follow up blood work. We have switched all our pets to Best Friends.

We LOVE BestFriends! It is so clear how much they love the fur babies they see. They take their time during visits and nail trims (there’s NO where else I would go for that). This is also the first vet clinic I’ve been to that doesn’t smell like years worth of urine and animal anxiety. It’s always so clean. Each vet tech and veterinarian is so kind and genuine. HIGHLY recommend.

I called with wound concerns with my pup on Friday, and Rose was super courteous and got us scheduled immediately. She talked me through getting records forwarded, etc.
When we came through the door, Julie… jumped right up to welcome us. Her warm and friendly attitude erased any apprehension that Bandit had.
When we met with Dr. Tilus she the time to listen... to really LISTEN to my concerns and questions. They got my boy cleaned up, gave us some meds and we were out the door. When I had questions on Saturday they were quick to answer the phone and chat with me about causes and solutions

We have taken our pets to see Dr Reid for many years...they (and we) just love her! She has an obvious love of all pets and cares very deeply about each and every one. She has shared the joy of our getting new rescues...happy everyday experiences...and the very sad days when our pets have crossed the rainbow bridge. If we ever move from this area..I hope it is never too far that we cannot drive back here so she can continue to be our Vet. Her care is worth the trip!
