Services
Northwest Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Sam Allen in 1975. When Dr. Allen retired in 2012, Dr. Sara Williams purchased the practice with a team of experienced veterinary professionals dedicated to creating a welcoming place for pet owners. Dr. Sara and her team specialize in genuine compassion and connection.
At Northwest Animal Hospital, our goal is to provide each and every patient with the caring, individualized care that they need to enjoy long, happy and healthy lives. Our veterinarians and staff are highly trained and well-equipped to meet all of your pet's health care needs, from routine wellness exams to surgery.
Dr. Sara grew up on a farm in rural Minnesota. She was fascinated by science and when she was in high school, she helped her mom study to be a nurse, which sparked her interest in medicine. She attended North Dakota State and graduated with a degree in microbiology before continuing on to veterinary school.
We will miss you very much Ellie. You were a part of our family for 11 years and our house will not be the same without you. Amy was a very loving dog that enjoyed every minute of her 13 weeeks on this earth. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and even though she was with us for a very short time, she will be missed by many.
Our hospital is Certified Feline Friendly and we specialize in providing a comfortable experience for you and your pet. We understand why some pets are nervous going to the vet and we use special techniques to minimize stress and fear. We treat each of our patients as a unique individual and tailor our care plan and examination techniques to each patient.

Can I give zero stars? I have a lot of experience with vets and my experience with this vet has been terrible. And it's not even because of their INSANELY high, jacked up during COVID, prices! My dog had a dental here that was literally $1,800. I actually despise them more because of their absolutely terrible customer service. Specifically, Molly, at the front desk got into an argument with me in front of my children. They make everything difficult, take forever to fill prescriptions, and don't let you direct the care of your dog. Don't give them your money.

We recently moved and knew we'd need a new vet. And then suddenly in the same week, one of our dogs and our cat had health issues. Northwest was so kind and responsive. They were able to quickly get our pets in and took great care of them. They're without question our new permanent vet and we're grateful for their kind, practical care and advice from all the staff.

I just transferred my dogs here from another clinic. They are fantastic! My little dog hurt his leg last spring and after calling around to try to get him seen, Northwest Animal Hospital allowed me to bring him and drop him off so he could be looked at in between appointments and wasn’t even a regular dog patient of theirs. They were so helpful and great. I love that they send out an estimate the day before your animal’s appointment so you have an idea of what you’re spending and no surprises. I love that they’re not pushy on certain shots or procedures and let the owners decide what is

My dog recently fell ill and I reached out to Northwest Animal Hospital as a new customer via a simple Google search. My experience was something I will never forget.
My dog, Tucker, hadn't eaten for several days and was acting extremely lethargic. After bringing him in for an examination, Dr. Abby took the time to explain to me that Tucker had a tumor on his liver (likely cancerous) and the prognosis was not good. Due to his age and limited treatment options, I made the choice to have Tucker euthanized. Dr. Abby sat on the floor with me and Tucker and talked me through Tucker’s last moments

Took my new 8 week old puppy to NW Animal Hospital this week. My work schedule is crazy so I had to change a drop off time the night before. They were very accommodating and worked around my schedule.
Once my pup had been seen, I got a call from Dr. Abby. She was absolutely amazing. I had a ton of questions about the puppy and asked for advice as well. She gave honest answers and never rushed me once. Helped with some of the anxiety I was feeling about this new pup.
He's going to have a lifetime of good care here, I have no doubt.

I absolutely love the team here. I have two dogs that I have brought here since they were puppies. They both have ended up having more visits than I had anticipated or wanted 🙄 They both have allergies and are slightly accident-prone. My fur babies are always treated with the upmost care and respect. The team here seems to genuinely love my dogs. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and always up to date with the latest clinical studies. I would recommend this vet clinic to everyone.

Very happy with this Veterinarian. Only one visit so far but we have had our tiny senior chihuahua to Vets in at least 8 states and have a pretty good feel for a good Vet.
We had taken her to another area Vet and got no answers. This Vet had some excellent recommendations that made a lot of sense and didn't just jump to the first and most expensive options as many Vets do. We are treating her now and looking forward to improvement but know she is in good hands should we need further care.
Also, our chi was extremely comfortable with the facility and the staff which I don't believe has

I love this veterinarian clinic. Dr. Sarah and her staff are incredibly nice to the animals and will get you quick answers. As far as vet clinics go, this one is not outrageously expensive. It is appropriately priced and they do a nice job reminding you when your pets need to be updated for shots and preventative medicines. I would highly recommend this to any buddy that has pets in this area. Also, the facility is very clean and does not have that musty pet smell that a lot of other places have. These guys deserve five stars!

We took our 100+ lb Newfoundland in for a bladder infection and they were wonderful. They explained the costs of procedures (which we found quite reasonable) and did only what they needed to in order to get our dog healthy so we didn't feel oversold or overcharged at all. When our dog needed a prescription, they offered to have it filled by Target so it would cost ~$10 vs the astronomical cost of having the same medicine filled by a vet specific pharmacy. Everyone is wonderful and we are happy to have our dog visit Dr Sara and her staff.
