In 1946, father and son, Mario and Robert Salvarezza, opened Coast Marine & Industrial Supply a marine safety and supply service business located on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. Even as this Bay Area business flourished, gaining a reputation for safety and quality products, Robert began receiving calls and requests from Southern California customers wanting a local, similar marine service of their own.
Understanding their need, Robert headed south to San Diego, locating a perfect site on Main Street on which to build two warehouses to house a local marine company to provide service for our Southern California customers.
