We provide non medical health care to help senior citizens and adults with disabilities live comfortably in their homes. In-home senior care is now recognized as the more beneficial option for the health and well-being of senior citizens as they age. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S. and the disease itself, as well as the treatment, can have very serious effects for those.
According to statistics from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), falls are the number one cause of injuries among senior citizens, and there are. One of the most frustrating things about having elderly parents or family members who have chosen to age in place is that you cannot be there 24/7. We believe dignity and respect are two of the most valuable commodities in the world.

Services
In recent years, more people have been deciding to stay in their homes after retirement and age in place as they reach their golden years. While senior citizens can live more independent lives in their own homes than they can in a retirement home or assisted living community, the physical and mental setbacks that people experience as they age can make this difficult.
For senior citizens, many of the daily activities that they have been doing their entire lives may become too difficult for them to handle on their own. Whether due to physical limitations or mental disabilities, certain activities like bathing, dressing, and even getting out of bed may prove to be impossible without assistance.
The effects of aging can make everyday activities that many people take for granted either difficult or impossible for senior citizens. Seniors with limited mobility or arthritis may have difficulty with basic housekeeping tasks, getting dressed, or bathing, especially if they need a walker, cane, or wheelchair to move around.
If you have a loved one in your family who needs 24-hour home care, it's natural to want to provide them with as much help as possible. However, it is difficult for family members to care for their loved ones 24 hours a day, especially if they have jobs and children of their own. Fortunately, there are options for families who need 24-hour home care for elderly family members or loved ones with disabilities.
Getting up from the bed, walking to the restroom in low-light conditions, and similar events contribute to why the night is a dangerous time for individuals with mental and/or physical limitations. At Assisting Hands, we offer overnight home care services in Park Ridge, IL and the Chicago suburbs to make evenings more manageable and safer for seniors and adults with disabilities.

Our family needed some support after an unexpected hospitalization. We use the organization for two weeks. Management was very supportive and most importantly responsive to our needs. We worked with a couple caregivers which included daily as well as live-in. We had a wonderful experience I would not only use them again but recommend them to others.
