I am Dr. Kimberly Mallett and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my website. I understand finding a therapist you feel comfortable working with is an important decision. Helping my clients improve their well-being is my priority. My goal is to support and guide you through challenges you face with the compassion and care you deserve.
Services
I received my Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology in 2005 from the University of Washington in Seattle and completed my APA approved internship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. I am a licensed Psychologist in the state of Colorado (Psy.0005196). I am also a Professor at Penn State University (while living in Colorado) where I focus my research on improving the health and lives of individuals through clinically based interventions.
Therapy sessions are designed to strengthen your confidence, and assist you in the healing process. Take a look at the services I offer, and get in touch with me today. During our therapy sessions we will work to identify and resolve current problems and enhance positive thinking and behavior. Our work together will be collaborative and will aim to provide you with strategies to cope with life's challenges.
While I consistently use evidence-based treatments, each client is unique and I tailor therapy to address his or her specific needs. I use a person-centered approach and believe therapy is most productive in the context of a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches supported by research such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based approaches, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Systemic Therapy among others.
If you would like to set up an appointment, schedule online, contact me by phone, or email. Length and frequency of treatment will vary based on the needs of each client. We will work together to determine the frequency of visits (e.g., weekly, every other week), and how long working together will be beneficial to you.
Over the past decade I have received multiple grant awards from the National Institutes of Health to support my research in the area of substance abuse prevention and cancer prevention among high risk populations. My research has focused on working with individuals to change risky and potentially harmful behaviors using empirically validated approaches.
