Before you move in to a new house, it is recommended that you have a detailed home inspection undertaken. Why does the home need one? For all you know, the home might be dressed up to bring out its best features while its flaws are minimized. Billions of dollars in heating and cooling costs are lost to Americans each year because their homes are energy-inefficient.
You cannot see or smell radon. But, it may be in your home, putting you and your family at risk of developing serious respiratory problems, including lung cancer. Aerolite Consulting cannot stress enough the importance of radon testing. Radon is a radioactive gas released by the natural breakdown of uranium or radium in soil and rocks.
Radon naturally comes from the soil and rocks in which radium or uranium decays. As a gas, radon enters your house through your basement foundation cracks and other breaches. When your indoor air has a high level of radon, you and your family are at risk of developing lung cancer. Radon emits radioactive particles that, when breathed in, can damage cells in lungs.
Asbestos is a type of mineral fiber. Asbestos fibers are very strong; they are also heat-resistant and fire-retardant. For these reasons, it is used to insulate buildings. While asbestos is very useful, it has many drawbacks also, particularly its effect on health. When an individual is exposed to asbestos, the chances that the person may develop lung disease go up drastically.

Simply the best. Very thorough. We have dealt with him on two separate inspections--both as sellers and buyers. If you want to have a clear and complete inspection, Jonathan is your guy. He found the most minute issues and gave us good advice on what the likely explanation was and how much of an issue it was likely to be. Absolutely could not recommend him enough.

Aerolite is first class. Thorough inspection with great willingness to explain all their findings, especially useless for first time buyers. And it’s one-stop shopping. They provide all the specialized inspections as well. And they provide terrific recommendations for vendors. Could not ask for more. They provide fabulous service and I wouldn’t use anyone else.

Had a great experience with Aerolite doing a home inspection in the due diligence period of a home purchase; Jonathan was our inspector. He was quick, efficient, gave us a detailed report, and also walked us through the items that we might want to ask sellers about. He also gave us a frank opinion about other inspections we might want (without just pushing us to get more inspections done without considering our situation or the home). He was also sensitive to the timing of our purchase and got us our results with plenty of time before various deadlines.
