I used to hate dentists & visiting them for any reason unless absolutely necessary. However, while eating dinner, I cracked a tooth. At the recommendation from my sister, I went to see Dr. Tanaka. Immediately upon meeting him, he quickly put me at-ease. I felt confident with him as i found out he essentially grew up in the South Bay. He was very pleasant and reassured me after explaining that he completely understood my dislike of dentists. His dental assistant was also extremely polite and caring. I would easily recommend him and his office if you need a general & cosmetic dentist.

Looking for a good dentist? Dr. Tanaka is the best. We've been going there for several years. He and his staff are professionals. Dr. Tanaka is the best dentist I've ever had. I've had several crowns done and the experience was painless. Gigi is our oral hygienist. She's so sweet. Very good at cleanings. Carrie is the office manager. Sweet as well. All the other staff are very good at their jobs. I highly recommend Dr. Tanaka for all your dental needs.

Dr. Tanaka and his team have been providing our dental care for several years and have come to know our family well. We appreciate their friendly and attentive demeanor, their non-rushed and sensitive approach to care, and how they take the time to explain details but also highlight the priorities and the bottom line. The office itself is warm and inviting, and I could nap all day in those chairs. Carrie and the front office staff are helpful and accommodating and make scheduling appointments and planning next steps easy. A visit to Dr. Tanaka's office is always a pleasant experience.

I always hated and despised going to the dentist until one day my tooth started to wiggle then i was scared. Dr Tanaka and front desk (Carrie) have always cared about my teeth and have always gone over my plans. Dr. Tanaka has taken away my fear and i actually look forward to going. He has given me 2 beautiful front teeth implants and got my teeth&gums healthy. His hygenist Cindy is the best! All staff is helpful and office is beautifully decorated. I am greatful i found this place YOU will too

Wow! Historically I am terrified of Dentist.. Upon entering the office I was instantly calm... I had not realized how small and clastraphobic OTHER offices are.. I felt more like a spa lobby... Soft warm colors, high celings!!! I didn't notice till later but what a huge difference for me... The Staff were 2 lovely ladies, attentive, caring and concerned...wonderful!!!
Now, the Doctor.. Amazing. Straightforward with out being condescending, informative, calm, honest and through ...I had a great experience and will return and recommend.. Well done Team.. Thank you for helping me.. Love. E

Dr. Tanaka and his team deserve MORE than 5 stars. Don't pay attention to these heartless Yelpers! Dr. Tanaka is a VERY thorough, competent, and compassionate dentist. He is the epitome of professionalism at its best. I have never met another dentist more honest than him, and one who is consistent when it comes to immaculate dental care each and every time. To this day, I continue to refer family, friends, (and even strangers lol) to Dr. Tanaka's dental office.

I have had one appointment for my daughter to get her teeth cleaned, and I'm very happy with the service received. Dr. Tanaka's staff is super friendly and helpful. My daughter has braces, and we have to coordinate getting her wires removed before a teeth cleaning, and then put back on after the cleaning. It so happens her orthodontist is across the hall, and Dr. Tanaka's staff was very flexible and helpful in finding a way to make the appointment work with any scheduling challenges we had between the orthodontist's calendar, my daughter's school and activities schedule

I had been a patient of dr Tanaka for more than five years. On my last appointment he told me I needed some crowns, I iformed the secretary that I wanted a second opinion and that I would be having another doctor evaluate Dr Tanakas proposed dental procedure for me. I promptly got an email from Dr Tanaka informing me that I would no longer be welcomed as his patient, telling me that if I did not have the work done by him immediately that he could no longer be my dentist! Nice dentists in friendly offices are a dime a dozen. GOOD dentists who do not need their work repaired in a few years by someone else are very hard to find. Brian Tanaka is one of those GOOD dentists. My first examination appointment with Brian about seven years ago took at least an hour and a half; he is that thorough. He pointed out the crater that another dentist had ignored two months earlier (I hear that guy now services prisoners in the SD jail who deserve his fine work). Since then I have had numerous botched procedures fixed by Brian Tanaka. Right now I am sporting a temporary crown

Dr. Tanaka was recommended by my childrens' dentist. He's extremely good at dealing with dental procedure chickens. I recently had three fillings fixed, which I was very nervous about - the sound of the drill makes me want to crawl up the wall, and I don't like needles either. Dr. T was compassionate about my nervousness and got the work done quickly. It was also the first time in quite a few dental visits (with other dentists) that I didn't have to be re-injected with novacaine partway thru the procedure.

Service was acceptable but when I had to cancel a cleaning appt due to work schedule issues, I received a bill charging me for failing to cancel the appt. I had left a detailed voice message explaining the reason for the cancellation in advance. If this is how they treat patients, there are many other excellent dentists in Eastlake area.
