Our eye doctor Arthur A. Medina, Jr. was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, and attended Central Catholic High School. He received his doctorate of optometry in 1972. The University of Houston, College of Optometry, appointed him to the faculty. Medina continued his postdoctoral training with Dr. Louis Girard, M.D, who chaired the department of ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine.
That experience enhanced the philosophy that still serves as the foundation for his optometry practice. Dr. Medina opened his private practice in 1983, after a decade as an associate of two prestigious ophthalmological practices. His experience with pre and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery patients led to working relationships with leading ophthalmic surgeons throughout Texas and the western United States.

I always have the most amazing experience when visiting, Dr. Medina & staff! Everyone is always so pleasant and great to work with! Susan’s expertise in the optical has continuously helped me find spectacles that work for me, with their broad selection of fashion forward to traditional to conservative eyewear! 10/10 highly recommend!

I fully recommend Dr. Medina and his other Dr, Gary. Dr. M is literally the only physician who I enjoy visiting with (Gary too). He genuinely cares about my eyes and how I am able to see the world. He made it possible for me to have Lasix even with my terrible vision. Six years later he's still as joyful as ever and his staff is always pleasant. It's worth the two hour drive to see him twice a year. I even sent my brother to him for his eye concert. Highly recommended.

I love to say this. I’ve been going to Dr. Medina since the ink was wet on his diploma!! That was back in the ‘70’s. Boy did I have a crush on him. I was only 20. But seriously, I’ve never had a more thorough exam. And with all the patients he has he remembers things like I hate glasses or I started showing signs of glaucoma at my last visit. When I asked why and he mentioned my age, I suggested I get a discount for every time he talks about my age because he has hardly aged at all. God’s little joke…men get more dignified and we get wrinkles.
His staff is also outstanding. I’d be

I have been seeing Dr Medina and Susan for over 25 years. They have both taken exquisite care of my eyes’ every need. They do it with professional care and compassion, and after all of these years my eyes continue to be in excellent health! I look forward to my annual exams with confidence and the knowledge that I am receiving the absolute best care possible.
I give Dr Medina and Susan my highest possible rating!

Nice calming atmosphere. Never overly packed like other eye doctors that I’ve been to where you have to stand until you’re called on. Love Dr. Medina he takes his time and explains everything to you. I never feel like he’s rushing through trying to get to the next patient. His staff is nice and courteous always greeting you right when you step in and then again as you leave. I love this place so much I drive across town for my appointments with him. I would highly recommend Dr. Medina.

After doing business with another provider for years, I decided to call Dr. Medina"s office for an appointment. I was impressed from my first interaction, I was able to book a same day appointment and was greeted with such warmth from the moment we walked in!
Much to my surprise, unlike my previous provider, they called me in before I even completed the paperwork. I was extremely pleased with everyone in the office. The doctor was amazing! He interacted well with our 13 year old son, who asked a lot of questions and was genuinely interested in answering his questions.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had seen Dr. Medina a couple of times years ago and everything went smoothly. I recently moved back to San Antonio and decided to come back to his office. Huge mistake! Came for my annual visit and to finalize my prescription and both times waited over an hour to be seen. Ridiculous!
In addition to the wait time Dr Medina and his office staff lack basic customer service skills. Dr Medina didn't set any expectations on when i could get my prescription. When I asked him he seemed annoyed as he explained the process. The second time I went I told him the

As a regular of Dr. Medina's, this review is long overdue. To be fair though, I wanted some time to pass so I could properly review my results. I have been seeing Dr. M since August 1, when the Army sent me to him for my reservist LHI eye exam. At that exam, he noticed some shifting of mass occurring in my eyes, and concluded that my 20 years in contacts was a factor. So you know, I literally kept my contacts in from the moment I woke to the moment I went to sleep for twenty years. That's a lot of hypoxia. Anyways, I had always had an aversion to even checking out Lasix because I need
