Dogs and cats are like people in many ways, including their health needs, so it's important to meet those needs so your pet can be with you for as long as possible. At Miller Place Animal Hospital, we believe that preventive care is the best way to accomplish this goal while promoting a good quality of life for your pet.
It's important to vaccinate a new puppy or kitten within their first few months of life. Ideally, the first set of boosters should be given to your pet at 6 to 8 weeks of age. Essential vaccines every pet should get help protect them from dangerous and deadly diseases, some of which can be contracted to humans.
Does your pet have bad breath or swollen gums? These are two common signs of gum disease, so if the answer is yes, it's time to schedule a cat or dog teeth cleaning. Gum disease affects more than 50% of all dogs and cats over the age of 3, which is why maintaining your pet's oral health is so important.
Dr. Galvis provides spaying, neutering, complex abdominal procedures, and more for Miller Place and surrounding communities. Safety and quality of service are our highest priorities. Therefore, we follow the most current pet surgery guidelines to help ensure your pet's complete comfort and safety. In order for our animal hospital to run efficiently, our doctors perform all non-emergency surgeries on scheduled days.
