Bay Solar did my installation back in April of 2018. Installation went smoothly and I have nothing but good things to say for the process up to installation. After that though, the city inspector scheduled multiple inspections for the system to get it approved and Bay Solar missed 3 of them. When they finally came for the 4th appointment, it was nearly a month after the system had been installed. The inspector wrote up the approval a week later and mailed it to me. It took Bay Solar another month to call me and ask for the paperwork from the inspector. During this whole time I kept calling Bay

I have been a homeowner for over 35 years and I have never done business with a more unprofessional company than LA Solar Group. Each representative I spoke with had no idea about my project as if there was no file in the system. Departments did not communicate with each other and there was no follow up, which necessitated more calls from me. Everything seemed promising in the beginning of the process, but from June 27, 2019, when I signed the contract and until the Tesla battery started charging on March 23, 2020, nothing was completed in a timely manner.

I am updating my initial review after the LA Solar CEO reached out to me to address my issues.
I found LA Solar through EnergySage.
I got quoted for solar panels and battery and LA Solar was very competitive and had high quality products. Their installation crew and engineers are also very professional and competent. My roof is rather small but they were creative and resourceful enough to find a way to install solar panels on it. I didn't expect the project to be easy or straightforward but they managed to make it happen and they deserve credit for that event though it took a very long time

This is an update of my last review. Since my review was posted back in Jan, I was immediately contacted by a top brass at LA Solar, which owns Bay Solar, who assured me that my situation will be immediately addresses. True to his word, he expedited the process and made sure that all the technical problems were resolved. Unfortunately, because of Covid19 lockdown, we didn't get an inspector to come out until May. We did pass with no issues. Since then, we've had no problems with our panels or the service.

The 6.8 KW (peak) solar system that these folks installed for me really rocks! So if you are planning to install a solar system, look no further and hire this company. I say this because I did my homework right and had obtained over six estimates, and this company beat all the other five not only on price and quality, but also on other (rather important) things as you can see below.
1. Price: This company beat all the others by nearly 20%, and all the other five estimates came very close to one another to the point where I was suspecting that there is some sort of illegal "price fixing"

Did a lot of research before I started my adventure into solar and found 4 companies with great reviews and good prices.
Finally settled on LA/Bay Solar Group as they had the strongest warranty and provided the best equipment - for example, they offer Panasonic panels at comparable prices to the panels offered by the other companies I researched.
In 2018 I had the panels installed and, due to the power shutdown threats, this year I had a Tesla Powerwall installed.
To be honest, they ran into a few complications as I have an Eichler style house without an attic, but they worked through them without

This is a review from someone who did NOT go with Bay Solar Group as their contractor.
I wanted to thank Nicholai for his time and energy. He is a wealth of information and really believes in educating his customers so that they can make an informed decision. He also worked very hard to get us a good quote. He was not pushy as well, which I really appreciated.
In the end, we went with a different contractor, but it is easy to understand why Bay Solar Group has such great reviews. Do yourself a favor and ask for a quote/ consultation with them. I was about to just stick with the larger companies

Simply the best in the business!!!! The entire process from start to finish was extremely easy and their customer service was as good as it gets. They called everyday to follow up and everything happened exactly as promised. I have already recommended them to many of my friends and family. System looks great and the installers were very professional. Making the move to solar can be a big decision but this group makes it very easy. Ask for Tony and you will be glad you worked with them.
