They want love and acceptance and approval just like everyone else but sometimes their thoughts and behaviors can get in the way.

Services
In my therapy with children, I usually do a combination of "talk therapy" and Play Therapy. Talk Therapy - I believe it's important for a child to learn to put words to their thoughts and feelings. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), focuses on an individual's underlying thoughts which fuel non-adaptive behaviors.
All scheduling is done online. After your first appointment, you will have access to Dr. Lott's appointment calendar. You will be able to see what time slots are available to best meet your needs. You can also cancel online; however, there is a $90 fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice. You will then be asked to complete the necessary forms with contact information, insurance and other background information.
With young children, one of the first things I reassure them about is that although I am a type of doctor, I am not a medical doctor. There are no pills, or shots or poking around or anything that hurts. I explain I am a doctor who only works with kids because I like kids a lot. Some children who see me have had some rough things happen in their lives, while others may be having problems right now that are keeping them from being happy.
