People who like big, red wines love Petite Sirah for its dark fruit flavor and robust tannins. These Petite Sirah grapes came from Livermore Valley, the site of the first bottling of this varietal in 1961. The hot days and cool nights produce an intensely dark grape, bursting with flavor that produces a luscious wine.

I went to a wine tasting event at Rootstock in Los Gatos ,where I was introduced to the most amazing cab. It's called Baccarossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Its color was a rich dark ruby, nice dark berry on the nose with rich texture and a smooth finish. It's a great big cab for all your cab lovers, give it a try.
The winery is in Los gatos owned by Jim Schwabe & Doug Aumack. They have been making wine for a while ,but this cab is their best ever. They also make a 100% petit verdot, which ,you can taste at the basin restaurant in Saratoga .
