APKH&C was established in Gaylord in 1969, and we are one of the oldest, most-experienced and trusted law firms in all of Northern Michigan. In 1978, Gene Petruska and his partners purchased the practice from the firm's founding attorney. Elaine Hart brought an unshakable commitment to helping people when she joined the firm a few years later.

In Michigan, rules and regulations of workers' compensation are governed by the Workers' Disability Compensation Act of Michigan unless it is regarding a federal employee.
Social Security Disability was created to help those Americans who find themselves disabled. According to the Social Security Administration, studies show that a person over 20 has a 1 in 4 chance of becoming disabled before reaching retirement age. These benefits serve as a way for these disabled Americans, who have a long term disability, to have some semblance of an income to help pay the bills.

After I was involved in an automobile accident I hired Mr. Gene Petruska to represent me.

I have been a client here until today... we finally settled my clame! I know it seems that lawyers are always out to help them self but this form truly cares about their clients. My lawyer was willing to go to bat for me in court when the insurance was being difficult. He truly knew the worth of my lawsuit and wanted me to get a fair settlement.
