Bighorn Rv Park
Bighorn Park is a family owned and operated resort with an RV park, cabins, motel, and tenting area. We are located in the scenic Bighorn Sheep Canyon, and nestled on the Arkansas River in the sunny Colorado Rocky Mountains. Namesake Bighorn Sheep are frequently seen on the rugged rock cliffs across the river, while one might be fly fishing.

Bighorn Park is a great place for your family and friends to stay while you visit the Royal Gorge Bridge and the Sand Dunes National Park. While here, you might want to visit a ghost town or an old mine, as well as partaking in a Jeep and/or ATV tour/rentals, horseback riding, hiking, and biking. And there is always a white-water rafting trip waiting for you!
Services
Pull into our shaded, level, easy-access sights for a wonderful camping experience. Enjoy lunch on a picnic table next to your RV, and later, take a dip in our swimming pool, or play a game of volleyball. Most spaces are pull-thru, and all are wide enough for slide-outs on 2 sides. There are 20-30-and 50 amp electricity and water at all spaces.
You can enjoy our real log Cabins with 3 different floor plans. All have 2 bedrooms, with full kitchen facilities, modern bathrooms, and some with a fireplace. All linens and kitchen utensils are supplied--all you have to bring is your food! Centrally located in the Park, you may want to relax by the swimming pool, enjoy the sights and sounds of the Arkansas River, or play an evening game of volleyball.
All are rustic and authentic in a log building, just like our log cabins. All have modern private bathrooms and TVs. Enjoy a pleasant cross-breeze coming into your room through an open window, while relaxing, and taking in the fresh scent of the pine trees. These people are very nice. Had to come a day early and they put us up in the 'motel' as we had a cabin already the next night.
At Bighorn Park we have both onsite and nearby recreation opportunities to help you and everyone in your party have loads of fun during your visit! Located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and on the Arkansas River, we've got easy access to trailheads for hiking, climbing, and mountain biking.

My favorite park on my trip, due solely to the quality people that run this place. Salt of the earth, good people.

Beautiful place to stay right on the Ar-Kansas river! ;) Stayed the night in an RV with my family. The owners were extremely accommodating to us showing up late and allowed us to pay in the morning. The owner was extremely nice and gave us several recommendations of places to go and things to do in Salida. I would definitely recommend you stay at this RV spot!

I just love this place. They really do have something for everyone. Have been coming here for 35 years and have seen three different owners now. I can't help but wonder though what happened with the pool last weekend. It was very cloudy so I didn't go in. Aside from that we had a great time and the owners were great.

Aaron and Brenda are so nice. We had a little flood in our camper and they were so helpful. Then we had a flat tire on our truck and they even offered their vehicle to us to have tire repaired. The camping is great, the cabins too as our kids came and stayed 1 week there

Awesome stay thanks to the hosts! We were supposed to stay 2 nights in one spot then move for our other 2 nights across the row but Aaron worked some magic and we were able to stay all 4 nights in one spot! We are also 44ft and he made sure we fit comfortably! Kids had a blast at the play ground and taking walks down to the river.

Just book it! I can't say enough good things about this place. The owners Brenda and Aaron are the nicest people and their entire staff, Ken, Jeremy, etc are all just as good of people. We're relatively new full-timers and had had some trailer trouble prior to arriving (our jacks broke Boondocking in the desert) and we thought we were stuck attached to our truck until the RV store opened but Aaron and Jeremy saved us by using their own jacks and getting us all set up and unhooked so we could explore the town in the mean time. Then when it was time to reinstall the new ones the came by

Easy access off HWY 50 in Howard Colorado. Direct river access for launching rafts or fishing. The sites are very well maintained and the owners are absolutely the friendliest people you will find. There is limited shade, but besides that it's a great spot to access the river.

The people running this establishment are smiling, hard working and easy going. Also, they are super cool about having dogs. The sites are clean. I'm not sure if any of the sites have a view of the river. The road is pretty close.

We are in our 3rd stay at Bighorn. There are many reasons they get all 5 star ratings. See all the other comments. Doug & Judy and their staff are fantastic. They have rules and enforce them, but that is what makes it such a wonderful place to stay. My husband commented you could eat off the men's bathroom floors, they are so clean. Great to have laundry, ice, propane right on site. It is great they provide a variety of types of options - RV sites, tent, bunk houses, hotel rooms, and two bedroom fully equipped cabins. With the river, views, pool, and activity options a great place

We really enjoyed our stay here! We were very lucky to stumble across this RV Park. Thanks to iPhone maps! We made last minute reservations for the holiday weekend of the 4th of July. My husband loved the personalities of the owners Bill & Judy. This place is so clean and you can tell the owners are very particular with perfection! OCD just like my husband. The bathroom was so clean: in fact every time I walked in there i was impressed that it always had the freshness of just being cleaned. They even scrape level each driveway daily and each lot between every visitor. There is a little

Who am I to dispute the 5-star ratings Bighorn has already gotten?

The owners are very nice. Laundry and showers are spotless. They have some nice greenspace out front and some beautiful shoreline along the river to enjoy. We stayed here in our motorhome and the 50 amp power is solid, sites are level and the wi-fi is pretty darn good. Propane is available, too. Forty-two bucks a night for this part of Colorado is not bad.

I predict that we will stay here again!

I just got back from a two-day stay at Bighorn- at my father-in-laws RV Campsite. The bathrooms are immaculate and peaceful. The location is gorgeous, right on the river with beautiful snow peak views. The hosts are amazing. I work in hospitality and I was blown away by their generosity, genuine friendliness, and willingness to go above and beyond to make our stay super comfortable and awesome. They gave great recommendations on off-the beaten path places to fish. There's a community fire-pit here, and a variety of accommodations which are reasonably priced. I'd come back here in hopes

I'm a backpacker. But hey, sometimes packing in is not ideal...such as when your non-camping friend-folk visit town.

For less than $50: a riverside "bunkhouse" within 15 feet of the award-winning trout fishing Arkansas River...with electricity. Two queen beds with fitted linens (additional linens extra - we brought our NF bags), a couple chairs both indoors and out, an outdoor picnic table, plus a handy table area inside the unit.

I was overwhelmed by the cleanliness of the shared WC's (bathrooms) and showers. Floors were spotless. New paper goods stocked by 5am.
