Services
Dr. Jeff is an American Board Certified orthodontic specialist. He started his career as a general dentist in public health dentistry, before continuing his education in orthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to his work, he has spent the last fifteen years traveling abroad to remote areas of Nepal, Cambodia, and Guatemala providing dental care to underserved children.
Knowing when orthodontic treatment is needed and selecting a treatment plan can be overwhelming. Dr. Jeff and his team are happy to review with you when is the most ideal time to start treatment and what treatment options are best to meet your goals, whether that is Invisalign or traditional braces.
A crossbite occurs when the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth, which may cause tooth stratification and misaligned jaw growth. This results in an improper use of the lower jaws and sometimes makes the face uneven. This is when the upper teeth extend too far forward or the lower teeth do not extending far enough forward.
When bone growth is not in our favor, it is important to identify and treat these problems early. Misaligned jaws and certain issues that are seen in children may be early signs of poor airway or unfavorable growth. In early treatment, our focus is on getting bone growth and development on track. We love seeing children at any age when parents or the general dentist believe there is a problem.
Adolescence (ages 10-19) is the best time for orthodontic treatment, however in some cases an earlier intervention is recommended. Generally, most of the permanent teeth are in by (10-13) years of age. Once all adult teeth are present, we can start aligning the teeth and improving the bite and smile.

Dr. Berndt and his crew did such an amazing job on my ortho case. He definitely helped boost my confidence with my new smile. He is such a nice guy and made me feel comfortable from the start. He is very honest and that goes a long way in the dental world. I highly recommend him if you are thinking about traditional braces or invisalign.

Dr. Berndt is one of the best orthodontist around. From the first day I met him I felt secure and confident that he could bring out the confidence of my 10 year old daughter. She was embarrassed of her smile so wouldn’t show her teeth at all. He and his assistants changed that within minutes and in just a couple of weeks her smile has totally changed. Madelyn now looks so forward to coming and seeing him and all the girls who take care of her. We are forever grateful for Dr. Berndt and his team!

Dr. Jeff and his staff are amazing. If you want top care while feeling like they’re friends not just another doctor or practice this is where to go. They listen to what your concerns and desires for your smile are and try to make that possible while incorporating your plan of care. Also, when I travel nursed in Seattle and a bracket fell off, mailed me the bracket and used a connection they had in Seattle to get it replaced with no hassle to me. They’re just overall accommodating, precise with their work, and fun to be around. Never thought I’d enjoy going to an orthodontist appointment.

Really happy I came across Noble Orthodontics! I genuinely look forward to each appointment and am already sad thinking about when my braces treatment will end. Dr. Jeff is super knowledgeable and lets you know what’s happening every step of the way. Also special shoutouts to the rest of the team: Jamie, Megan and Ashley, y’all are the best!
