Family Eye Care of the Carolinas believes our most important responsibility is the health of our patients. Not all of our patients are able to be vaccinated. We still screen staff and patients daily (including temperatures). We limit the number of people in the office. We sanitize all rooms and surfaces between patients.
Ophthalmic exams require our staff to be in close proximity to all patients (less than 6-foot social distancing guidelines). We strive to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible during the current pandemic as well as any other time of the year. Please refrain from coming to our office if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness.

We get there I'm told I don't have vision coverage. I give them the insurance card it says we have vision coverage. Front desk comes in the room takes cards again comes back saying there is a copay. The appointment is rushed but I really don't have any questions so fine. 4hrs later phone call oh we just looked at your insurance card we don't accept who you have for vision coverage.

I scheduled an appt with them two months ago, when I scheduled my appt, I told them why I was coming and gave them my insurance info. I showed up for my appt on time and signed in. When I went in for my appt they told me then that there would be a $150 fee to get fitted for contacts and that it would have to be paid at that time. I decided to leave because no one told me about this prior to my visit. I spoke with my husband while in the parking lot and he offered to pay. When I called back to see if they would still be able to see me, they told me they would have to work me back in and didn’t

Very fast, professional and they really listen to you. Dr. Poindexter is a great site to look at so I highly recommend him to all my gal friends. The pricing is excellent. Best quality of glasses and contacts. Exams are extensive and never painful. Easy appointment and friendly atmosphere and staff. With over 10 years of experience with this company. I absolutely trust them and only them.

I saw Dr. Wacker at Family Eye Care of the Carolinas and he was wonderful!!! Very patient...answered every question that I had about my contacts. It was nice to be seen by someone who truly cared to invest a substantial amount of time into my initial eval and contact fitting appointment. He is highly knowledgeable about different contact brands and helped me find the best fit with the most comfort. Would highly recommend if you are seeking an optometrist.

Dr. Bartiss is a wonderful doctor!! He was absolute amazing with my son. However, the rest of the staff, not so much. From the time we walked in at our appointment time to the time we left, two hours had passed! We did not get called back until 45 mins past our appointment time! Then the nurse was very short, had a lack of patience with my son and a bad attitude. Yes, he was cranky because he was sitting in the waiting room for so long, but she did nothing to help the situation. Her lack of patience and attitude made the situation so much worse. Causing me to become stressed. After, the nurses

I never write reviews, ever! This one I feel compelled to write after having a similar experience with this office and it’s staff. My daughter had been to many optometrists because of problems seeing in school, and they all said the same thing, “it's not glasses that she needs”. Her optometrist could find nothing physically wrong with her eyes. We visited an optometrist at our local Wal-Mart at the start of this school year. The optometrist took the time to listen and dug a little deeper. He saw something and suggested we visit "the best" -- Dr. Bartiss. When I explained to Dr. Bartiss that

All of my physicians are in Moore County, which is a 45 minute drive for me. This is the only office I have difficulty trying to get in touch with staff and getting staff to return phone calls. I finally drove to the office the past Friday and was there by 8:15am. The door was locked and it said staff meeting in progress. I could not stay and could not come back. And again could not reach anyone by phone. I stay because I really like my doctor. The staff is great in person. But customer service by phone needs a lot of improvement. Calls shouldn't take over two weeks to be returned. I work at night

I live 3 hours away and we received a referral to see Dr Bartiss for my Sons strabismus surgery. Bartiss was very informative, knowledgeable, and kind. He put all my fears to rest. My son is 1 1/2 years old, so I was very nervous about this surgery. The surgery was quick and his eyes are perfect! I can't thank Dr Bartiss and this eye center enough! Wonderful staff as well. Cute little waiting area with a half door for the little kids to play. If we lived closer, I'd change your sons primary to Dr Bartiss and his staff!

Dr. Bartiss- The best of the BEST! He was wonderful with our daughter that was terrified of the eye dr from past bad experience with drops. He did a wonderful job with surgery on her eyes, he performed Strabismus and Hypertropia surgery on her. Her eyes are holding wonderfully! We moved hours away and still traveled for follow ups with him.

Here's my take on this place. First, I liked my optometrist at the outset. Very knowledgeable and excited to share his knowledge. However, his recommended prescription for me was terrible. He assured me he would adjust it after I picked out glasses, but when I said I wasn't purchasing glasses, I got shooed out the door. I had to go to spectrum and pay a second time to find out the prescription was 4x as strong as it should have been. Also, I got the vibe that the rest of the folks there weren't that interested in you unless you were purchasing glasses from them. Overall not a good
