The GriefCare Place opened its doors in June of 1997. It offers a SAFE PLACE where those grieving the death of a loved one can find support, education, understanding, and a caring place to heal. The center serves individuals of all ages, offers a home-like atmosphere and is a non-denominational faith based organization where those of strong faith or those of none can come comfortably.
The GriefCare Place educates participants about grief and provides caring volunteers who walk alongside and companion them during the grieving/healing process. The GriefCare Place charges no fees and is funded entirely by fundraising events, donations, and memorial gifts. Since it is a charitable, non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible under IRS section 501(c)(3).

Services
The GriefCare Place's mission is to provide a SAFE PLACE where grievers gather together, under the guidance of trained facilitators, to educate, encourage and uplift each other throughout the healing journey. It was over 30 years ago when Lou-Ann Redmon, Founder and Executive Director of The GriefCare Place, recognized that widows needed support, encouragement, and reassurance that what they were experiencing as grievers was normal.
The GriefCare Place offers a progressive program of grief care through support groups provided without cost to the griever. It introduces those grieving the death of a loved one to the normal grieving/healing process in a sensitive and gentle way. For adults who have experienced any death; provides foundational information about normal, natural grief and a safe place to begin grief support.
Create a lasting, living legacy by memorializing your loved one in our "Healing Garden", located at The GriefCare Place. This natural, outdoor space was designed by and will be developed by our Caring Partner, the Rotary Club of Stow/Munroe Falls. Memorial Bricks are available for $100.00. Our "Memorial LifeTree" mural at The GriefCare Place will provide an opportunity for a reminder of your loved one.

My father passed away Friday, October 14th. I was devastated, still am, 3 months later. As the shock starts to wear off, and reality sets in, I am realizing what has happened, and it is very hard to accept. My childhood friend recommended grief counseling, saying she attended after her father died. I never even knew it existed. These counselors and support group are amazing. They welcome you with open arms, truly understand where you are coming from, because they have survived the same horrible ordeal themselves. Power in numbers is a true statement. You feel comfortable expressing your feelings
