The American Boutique Inn is located in the heart of Mackinaw City on a full city block overlooking Lake Huron just across the street from the Mackinac Bridge and Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. We combine the elegance and ambiance of a bed and breakfast inn with the amenities and convenience of a fine deluxe hotel.
Our delightful selection of award winning, themed, individually decorated rooms feature views to Lake Huron. Most rooms overlook our sparkling outdoor pool heated to a luxurious 88 degrees, (pool open late May-Mid Sept.) and our spacious, shaded grounds punctuated with lush flower gardens and fountains.

The pool was heated to 88°, which was really nice. Wines and cheese were provided nightly from 5:00 to 6:00 and a boxed breakfast every morning. The sink, counter, in furniture in our room needed to be updated. One of the other rooms, pictured below, seemed much nicer. I did mention to one of the owners that they need to update their website since it was a little misleading due to changes because of covid.

The room was very clean. Due to staffing shortage we had to change out dirty towels for clean but that was not a big deal. Coffee in rooms as well as hair dryers. Beds are just amazing? Pool is beautiful and clean. You just can not beat the location or the view. Grounds are very well kept..and gardens and flowers every where.

This is the worse motel I’ve ever stayed in. I found decor to be hideous! Room was so small and it smelled. It was dirty in corners.I tried to get a refund without success. Did get a refund for second night. Would not recommend. I also wouldn’t trust booking .com on their showing of availability of rooms.

Decent stay, though a bit pricey for what you get. The room was quite small, the bathroom was tiny. No mini fridge or microwave, though staff was friendly and let me store ice packs in their freezer overnight (was traveling with breastmilk that needed to be kept cold). The bed was super comfortable though! I did have to rearrange some smaller furniture to set up a safe sleep space for my baby (pack-n-play) but we were ultimately able to make it work.
