Butch's Auto Body and Painting have been serving the Washington Metro Area for over 45 years, family owned and operated since 1971. Founded in 1971 by Omer Kalender. His son, Eric Kalender took over the business in 1984. Eric was determined to honor his father by continuing the business that would truly offer value to the community.
If your vehicle has been damaged in an accident, theft or vandalism or incurred non-accident damage i.e. We have established relationships with all insurance companies both big and small. Our Service Team members take care of all types of collision situations with agencies on a daily basis - and we are experts in every area of auto insurance and claim handling.
We generally order your vehicle's parts at the time that we write the estimate and schedule your vehicle for drop-off a couple of days later. This enables us to provide quicker turnaround time. A car is a total loss only when the cost of repairs exceeds the insurance companies determined value of your vehicle.

I rarely leave reviews but thought the superb service I received at Butch's Auto Body warranted official documentation. From my first phone call to meeting owner Eric on site, I felt welcomed and "heard" by the team. Upon examining the minor damage to my foreign luxury vehicle, Eric immediately knew the culprit even without me providing these additional details. He thoroughly explained what was required to bring my car back to its original state and followed through accordingly. I cannot thank Butch's Auto Body enough for its follow-through and professionalism. I have found my go-to auto body shop

My experience at Butch's Auto Body & Painting was Amazing. I was look for a shop that could install the aerodynamic front lip spoiler, rear diffuser with winglets, and trunk roof spoiler on my BMW F15 X5 M Sport. I look up on Google for a shop and came across Butch's. I gave them a call and Liz answered and from that moment I felt welcome. I went by and met with Eric and made an appointment which they did everything to get me in ASAP based on my schedule. Unfortunately, this is the second time I had to use Butch's. First time a buck deer wanted my attention and crashed into the front of my vehicle and the second time a no good somebody decided to hit me from behind and speed off. Abbie and Erick were superb. Their professionalism coupled with excellent customer service did me and my baby right. I'm so grateful for the attention they gave my car and helping make this jacked up hit and run an awesome experience!I would highly recommend them again. Hopefully I won't ever have to see them again. But if I ever find myself needing auto body repairs this

I was referred to Butch's Auto Body via Auto Tech in Bowie. My Buick Encore aka "Romulus" needed several fixes. Here's why Butch's Auto is a First Class business: #1. Liz worked hard to squeeze me into their busy schedule because I didn't have flexibility in mine. #2. The mechanics completed the work 2 days ahead of schedule! #3. I was in a hit and run accident on 6/19/21. The person hit me from behind, tore my truck up and burst my rear tire. I had my truck sent to Butch's Auto Body. The customer service there is the BEST, their work ethic is AWESOME. When I picked my truck up it looked like it did when I purchased it in November. I really do appreciate their service and I would highly recommend Butch's to friends and family.

The folks at Butch’s Auto Body did an amazing job with my 2017 Lexus ES 350. I needed to have my bumper cover replaced and my biggest concerns were fitment, pricing, and quality of the paint work. I must say they did an extremely good job at addressing all these for me. When I got my estimate done, I was offered a choice between CAPA certified and OEM and I did check the price of these parts individually and they matched what I was expecting so no worries there. The labor and cost of paint and transferring everything from my broken bumper was incredibly reasonable. I’ve had to get similar work

Butch’s Auto Body is the place to go for any and all body/paint work. They installed an aftermarket lip spoiler on my GLI and did an amazing job getting the factory lip off. They made sure the new lip sat flush with the trunk of the car. If you’re ever in need of body/paint work, go here. Eric & his staff are very professional and do great work!

I’ve owned a classic car for 5 years and have worked on it a lot during that time. It always needed some body work on the bumpers and for them to be repainted. Though, since I love the car so much it was hard to find a place I trusted with it. Well, I finally took a leap of faith and left it in Butch’s capable hands...and I’m glad I did.
