Institute For Student Achievement
ISA promotes the integration of social and emotional learning along with meta-cognitive strategies into core academic instruction. ISA deeply believes that equity must be interwoven into the policies, practices, and procedures that impact student achievement and social emotional development. In providing instructional coaching, ISA collaborates to create customized plans and implementation strategies designed to achieve and sustain success beyond our involvement.
Services
For nearly 30 years, the Institute for Student Achievement (ISA) has partnered with schools and districts to transform schools so that students who are traditionally underserved and underperforming graduate prepared for success in college and careers. In 1990, philanthropists Lilo and Gerard Leeds founded ISA as a non-profit organization committed to improving the educational outcomes for underserved youth.
The staff at ISA sets the tone for what ISA strives to accomplish: Providing the organizational and professional development supports that disricts, schools, and educators need to graduate all students ready to succeed in college and career. Our team takes great care in recruiting and hiring personnel and consultants who reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve.
Online/virtual/distant/at-home learning modes of instruction will take on increased importance even after the pandemic lifts. We spoke to national board-certified teachers and online education ninjas to identify the tools they find most useful in making the transition. This list is far from exhaustive, and ISA receives no royalties for sharing these tools; we have no relation to their parent companies in any way, shape, or form.
With a proven track record of results, the ISA model has been independently validated by external evaluators and verified as having a positive impact on student achievement. Notably, ISA's whole school reform approach isincluded in the federal What Works Clearinghouse (WWC). ISA also meetsthe EveryStudent Succeeds Act (ESSA) Tier 2 threshold for evidence-based interventions.
