Services
A parent cooperative preschool provides an environment where families work together to create a positive learning environment for their children. Parents may volunteer at School on the Green on many levels. They may share in the planning, operation and maintenance of the school, participate in the classroom as substitute teachers or chaperone field trips.
Sara Schuch holds a Masters Degree in Special Education, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She is a mother of two boys who have attended preschool at SOTG. Sara currently works part time as a BCBA for Family Strong, LLC.
Prior to taking on the role of Director, Sara served as the Co-President of the Board of Directors for one and a half years where she worked closely with parents and teachers on fundraising, events, and basic maintenance of the school.

For our incoming 2019-2020 class, our beloved school is located at St. Michael's Church at 25 South Street Litchfield, CT. This new classroom is spacious and bright with a brand new playground! Our classroom space aims to promote exploration and stimulate learning while giving many opportunities to socially interact through creative free play.
Since 1972, School on the Green has been managed by a Board of Directors, which is comprised of parents of currently enrolled students and previously enrolled students. The parents that volunteer on the board of directors work together to ensure that the school remains compliant with state regulations as well as perform functions that significantly enhance the services provided to students and parents.
As a licensed CT preschool, our curriculum is based on the Preschool Curriculum Framework*. Each day the children have the opportunity to experiment with different art media, manipulative materials, dramatic play, a well-chosen library of children's books and records, building blocks of all kinds, science materials, and many other interesting items.

I don't know 100% about what this school is now. However when I was a child it was kind of a nursery school or a pre-K school. I attended it as a child, and I do actually have some very fun memories of this place. The staff was amazing with children. There was always something fun going on, and the children learn, while they were entertained. I do believe it is still open and active. I have heard of families in the area sending their kids there. I'm sure it is top quality it's in Litchfield and they usually do a very good job there and that's school system.
