I adore this store. Bygones Vintage Clothing is a fabulous shop with a plethora of selected accessories, hats, gloves, coats, vests, pants, dresses, and more. Every time I come to town to perform with the wonderful Richmond Symphony Orchestra, I pay a visit to this charming, well-appointed boutique. (It’s often the first place I visit the moment I drive into town; prior to checking to the hotel.) Update: Just a warning, they won't accept returns . They're nice and all, but they wouldn't give me money back, even with receipt. They give me a gift card. It's kind of like stealing. I can't use those shirts and they keep the money. It's like how the Government works.

What a cute store!!!! I love all things vintage, especially furniture. When I entered in we needed to use hand sanitizer and the mask needed to stay on. Yay!! Loved that! The store is a little tiny in the beginning but, it goes all the way back. In the back there is a men's section. There is jewelry, hair accessories, clothing, hats and much more. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Kudos to them for cleaning the counter tops.

I love coming to this store when I'm in Richmond because I'm into vintage clothing and accessories. I live in Austin, and to my knowledge we don't have a store that provides reproductions of vintage items like this one. So I make a point to stop by. I recently got married and wanted to wear something from this store because my theme was "vintage inspired" and it has meant so much to me to have access to a store like this one. I found a beautiful hair clip for around $25 that I incorporated into my wedding hairdo (pic provided). I had the classic hollywood style going and the clip made my vision

Bygones is a staple of Carytown. It's right by the Byrd theater and is loaded full of gorgeous vintage items and recreated new vintage pieces for parties, events, weddings, and any other event you might need a 20's flapper dress for.
It looks small from the outside but it's deep so don't be fooled - there are about three separate rooms if you keep walking back where they have men's clothing and some 70's groovy stuff in the very back.
The windows are always dressed well with a nice reflection of the classy vintage dresses they have inside (think Gatsby parties)

This vintage clothing store is alright by my opinion. The staff is helpful and friendly, but the prices are steep for me. I understand that is hard to maintain a good collection of vintage clothing, but customers should not have consider it a luxury. Also, there is not only vintage clothing, but reproductions that look similar. I only want to possess the real thing, so that stops me from buying those pieces. I do like the ever-changing collection of themed postcards. The mask/wedding dress section is very cool, too, along with the large variety of costume and real jewelry. I do wish the purses

Found my dream 50s style wedding dress here. It was actually the first day of looking, first store we went to and first dress I tried on! The ladies were very helpful and even found my "something blue", which ended up being the crinoline underskirt. They have a fantastic selection and will do their best to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

Visited this store with C's cousin, who is a vintage pin-up kinda gal. She knew the owners, and was so excited about all of the stuff here. They had amazing items. I particularly LOVED the mens clothing and accessories section. We got a few vintage style Richmond postcards to bring home, and just enjoyed seeing all of the neat items here. If I had a time period event to attend (and also fit into standard sizes), I'd definitely shop here for an outfit. Lots of top hats... TOP HATS!

I wish I had budgeted for some lovely vintage pieces while I was visiting Richmond. This would be the place to get them! The vintage scene is DC is non-existent, and it's been 6 or 7 years since I was in a really nice vintage shop. (Northampton, MA has amazing ones, for those keeping score!)
Not only do they keep vintage clothing in a variety of sizes, but they have accessories galore! Also note: they carry Besame (modern) cosmetics and vintage repro postcards.

I adore Bygones! I went in here with my cousin who is obsessed with vintage wear and she found heaven! We had such a great time flipping through all the different styles and accessories they have! A lot of items are actually reproductions which is nice because you know it's made well and you can actually wear it!

Bygones vintage is a true treasure in Richmond. Their selection of both vintage and vintage reproductions is amazing and their staff has an amazing knowledge of their products. They even have a great selection of plus size which is uncommon for vintage stores.

It is businesses like this, my friends, that make Richmond the bomb.com. This is what it's all about. You never realize how neat it is to be able to transport back to the 1920s at the blink of an eye until you need to. High brow vintage is fun, but it's so costly it takes the fun out of buying and wearing vintage when it's made unattainable by most vintage wearers standards.
The items they have are second to none, very nice, great condition, and multitudes of it.
They've got daily wear, replications of past designs, hats, gowns, coats, jewelry, night gowns, purses, Canes, Barretts, glasses, they've got it all.

Bygones is the most classic vintage store in Richmond, as far as I have found. It is exactly the way you picture classic vintage. They have an overwhelming array of things to see, and I could spend a whole afternoon playing dress-up in here... and in fact, if you go in on a weekday you will likely find a few women in there doing just that.
Of all the things they offer, my favorites are the accessories- whole cases of sparkly vintage earrings and necklaces and bracelets, cigarette cases and holders, cufflinks and tie pins and broaches.
