In 1972 father and son Sterling and Doug Van Rees purchased the Milford location of Taylor Marine Center. At the time both the Grady-White and Boston Whaler companies were just starting to find a niche in what later would become their trademarks and keys to their success -- overbuilt, extremely safe, and high quality boats for the fisherman and the family.
