Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery
Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery, Johnson County's original farm winery, is located 20 minutes southwest of Kansas City in Olathe, Kansas and is owned and operated by the Hoff Family who has farmed this land since before the Civil War. George and Brandi Hoff were inspired to begin a vineyard and winery of their own while on vacation in 2004.

The luscious grain fields that surrounded the beautiful family owned vineyards and wineries that they saw while on a winery tour at Niagara on the Lake reminded them of the family farm in Kansas and the seed was planted. Once home, George convinced farm owners Tom Sr. and his wife Marcie that a winery would be a wonderful way to keep the small acreage farm productive as the city swallowed up nearby pastures and fields.
Services
In 2018 we started producing Hard Cider as another delicious option for our customers. While the base of the product is made from apples the flavorful possibilities are endless! Whether you're looking for a straight forward hard apple cider or something more adventurous we've got you covered. Our not so basic apple cider.
We started our vineyard in 2007 on our historic family farm. Over the years we have added more varieties & acres. We Currently grow Riesling, Cayuga, Melody, Vignoles, Chambourcin, Steuben & Catawba. We recently added Crimson Cabernet and Zinthiana. We also source from a local grower in Atchison, KS that provides us with more of the grapes listed above as well as Seyval and Edelweiss.
Seating is limited. If you plan to sit with another group, please enter the last name of the group when purchasing tickets. Please confirm with your group what tickets they bought as our seating sections are not together. Guests are expected to be respectful to our staff, act appropriately and always follow the guidelines listed below.

Great low key winery. Tastings available. Great selection, staff was attentive and very down to earth. Found this winery on Google after leaving KC Wine Co after being treated rudely by staff. Nice break from your typically stuffy wineries in the area. The staff reminds me of my favorite winery in Paso Robles! There's a nice outdoor area with a patio and fireplace as well as indoor seating as well. Wine slushes were great! Hard Ciders were great and wine selection was varied and would sit most anyone's taste in my opinion.

Kind of dumpy, definitely not an upscale venue. Parking consists of a muddy field/gravel lot. I prepaid for what was listed on the event calendar but when I arrived, the band had been changed last minute. We decided not to stay, no refunds given which I do understand, but they refused to give me a good faith credit for next time. The manager couldn’t be bothered to tell me, she had her staff do it instead. Save your money and time for something better, KC. KC Wineworks at the Crossroads has a lovely tasting room with wonderful, personalized service.

We went to visit Stone Pillar last Saturday around 11:am. We had our son with us, so we went early to avoid the crowd. Live music started at 2:pm. They had some pop up shops that day that sold jewelry, candles, T-shirts, etc.. Food truck was also available.

When you drive up, parking lot consists of gravel and grass area. Pretty big parking area. Walking towards the front area, don't forget to take a picture with the props they set up. It's super cute! When walking up to the front area, you'll find a stand to your left that you can order wines, etc.. and a small building just for

Attended the Vinyl Revival Concert June 18, 2021. The band was awesome and the pavilion was the perfect place to enjoy them. The winery staff is second to none; so courteous and helpful. We are disabled and a gentleman staff member went out of his way to get us parked closed to the venue so we could walk on flat surfaces. He also brought our ID bands to us after verifying who we were. I highly recommend Stone Pillar Winery and will be sure to attend future events.

It was a pleasant experience even for those who are allergic to sulfates in the wine. Other drink options are available along with tasty food from their Food Truck. Loved the set up, especially the two very friendly dogs and tables in the field of vines.

Spent the evening with my family here and by far has the best view of the sunset i have seen since I moved to Olathe. This place is a little piece of heaven for me.
They have the best wines I've ever tasted. The Joceaux,
Peach mango & Blackberry were my favorite from our tasting . I've actually gone twice since my visit just to pick up bottles for home & I've never done that before with any other winery I have been to . They have two very sweet puppy's roaming the vineyard for kids to play with while you enjoy the scenery and your beverages & also offer wine slushees

Recently went to one of their sip and shop events. Enjoyed browsing all of the local businesses tents.
Love the venue.

However, the Rose wine slush I had was not that great especially for the $10 price tag, and the service was pretty slow.

This was one of their first events post quarantine, so we will definitely give it another try soon!

First time visitor at Stone Pillar located in Olathe, KS. Unfortunately it was a limited experience due to COVID but I look forward to going back to get the full experience.

I ordered a blackberry wine slushy and it was amazing! We were with a large group and I was able to sample a variety of wines but my favorite is the "Joceaux" red wine. A little more sweet but was a good summer red. I also tried their Chardonnay that was pretty good. They have a Peach Mango wine that wasn't my favorite but if you like moscato or sweet wine you will love. Taste exactly like Welches peach juice

First time visiting this winery. It isn't warm enough yet for the outside area to be entertaining / full of people. Sadly. However, the small store was open and still full of people. My friend and I did wine tasting because I had never had their wine before. It was $6 for 6 samples. They had quite a few red, white and rose(?) choices. Honestly after sipping the 6 samples, I was feeling pretty warm!! The girl pouring our samples gave us a quick run down of each wine as she poured it, mainly what we could expect in the flavor.

My friend and I stayed and each bought a bottle of wine to ourselves

Very reasonably priced wines and a very cute place. I love the events that they have especially during the summer. They also offer live music, grape stomping and many more activities at their Vineyard. They do carry wines that are the same year-round as well as seasonal wines. Stone pillar also has a separate building on the premise where you can host gatherings and it is beautiful!

I got to try this place when visiting my parents last week. We ended up going for "extreme music bingo" and had a lot of fun! I loved all the lights they had too. I tried a few ciders but I ended up getting the cranberry cider. It was pretty sweet but very delicious. I hope to come back next visit!

A beautiful representation of Kansas wine country. Love the easy to get to location, the wine and the slushes. But let me tell you about the hard cider... several flavors to choose from... I recommend the one with cinnamon. Excellent! Will visit again soon.

Went with some friends for the Cider and doughnuts. The wine is good. I enjoyed my time over all. The only down side is there is not a lot of seating so if it is a busy day you might not be able to find a seat.

I enjoyed the winery. I need to take another trip back here. I joined for their Cider festival. This place was too busy. They were also getting ready for a haunted hayride or something along those lines.

The ciders were fantastic and I suggest people try them out! As for the wine. I had very little and what I did have I liked enough to buy a bottle for the home cabinet.

Only down side was how crowded it was... which is a great problem to have!

Hey all, Thanx for reading and keep on drinking!

Perfect place to go if you want to stand around watching other people sample wine. My wife and I were just there. We stood at the sample counter for 5 minutes before we were even a acknowledged as being there. Then we were handed 2 pieces of paper and a pen. We obviously had to read the paper and circle what we wanted because the girl gave no instruction. So after selecting what we wanted to sample we just stood there another 5 minutes. Meanwhile a guy and a girl were standing behind the cash register doing nothing. A girl even came and filled the couples glasses next to us 2 times. She was the

I enjoy this local winery.

They're quite generous with their wine flights, compared to other wineries.

$6 for 6 tastings, and each time they fill your glass for the tasting, it's about 1/3 full, definitely worth it.

Try their wine slushees- it's really good!

They've also got pita chips, cheese, sausage, and crackers available to pair with wine!

In the summertime they also have live music and food trucks!

I've been here a grand total of 1 time for their extreme bingo night. What a fun time!

First of all, when you arrive, you'll realize pretty quickly that the bingo night has some serious regulars and some hardcore groupies. Bingo starts at 7pm, but it will be hard to find seats after about 6:15. Ladies show up with boatloads of food and claim a table, so you're going to have to get there plenty early.

I had two of the frozes, and oooooooo mannnnn they were good. Just delicious. I'm not even a Rose drinker, but I had a sample and it was fabulous.

As for the game itself, it

Note that this review is for one of their Friday night concert events. What a great time on a Friday night. $5 for a flight of 5 wines was a great way to start. While the food truck wasn't my cup of tea (sorry Taco's Food Truck, the nachos and tacos were very 2-3 stars at best), the wine was pretty great and the band (Boomerz Band) was impressive.

Speaking of the wine, these opinions are mine and you may think/taste completely differently...The Chardonnay and Cayuga are just about on the same level as vodka, definitely not very flavorful and kinda rough super dry white wines.

Wow I had no idea this place existed! My Aunt took me here on a weekend night for live music and obviously WINE. We had a great tasting and our host allowed us to try many other samples that weren't on the tasting menu. The wine wasn't incredible by any means and kind of gave me a headache but let's be real, that won't stop me. We waited in line for quite some time to get food from the food truck which was a nice touch by the winery. I'm not sure if I agree with them having a cover to just sit outside of the band's stage room, but it is what it is!

We stayed and

Wonderful service, but the wine wasn't up my alley. The girls who poured our wine tasting were very sweet and helpful. The wines, however, all had a very sour and woodsy aftertaste, or were way too sweet for my palette. There wasn't an in between. Wine slushies were quite low in alcohol content, but on the day that we went, slushies were 40% off, so I can't complain too much. They have multiple wine tastings, but I opted for the "you pick 6". Cute little winery, with a fun experience, wines just didn't taste too good for me.
