The bakery has an old fashioned atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed. Their pastries are delicious and at a very reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and love to welcome customers whenever customers set foot in the bakery. We love this bakery! Although I live an hour away, whenever I am in Valpo I make it a point to stop by and bring back some of their awesome baked goods.
Everything is so fresh and flavorful, plus their customer service is outstanding! All the baked goods from this place are phenomenal, be it biscotti, donuts, custom birthday cakes, we love it all! We recently had them make my wife's birthday cake; dark chocolate with dark chocolate ganache, and infused with salted caramel.

Heinz Henze Jr. said he's dough-kneading, powdered sugar-sifting proof that baking is a family trade art form. Henze Jr., with the blessing of Dawn, his wife of 13 years, decided last year to invest a lot of his own dough, along with even a lot more of his own time, to buy back his family's bakery business to return to the industrial-sized kitchen where he grew up.

Love their products. Service is good. But every time I try to special order a cake I am told I they can’t make it because I’m too late. That’s fine the first time. But the next time I called within the time frame I had been given from the first attempt. But I was told no again. When I said I was told 3 days and this was 4 days prior I was told that they were understaffed so it would be longer. I get the understaffed at the moment but if you tell ppl to order 3 days ahead and one month later you say no it’s longer I can’t depend on them. I won’t order a cake from them again. I’ll stick

They have a wide variety of baked goods and everything looked amazing...top notch quality! A feast for the eyes and tummy!!! Cream horns were perfect and long John's were both like I remembered them from Sno white bakery in Gary so many years ago ..brought so many memories back to me just eating them. Great job!!!! Thank you Henze's for the quality!!

The best bakery! Staff are helpful and all the baked goods are delicious! Have used them over several years for specialty cakes, cupcakes and cookies and they have always came through with exactly what we asked for, even did our wedding cake and it was perfect. If you are looking for a cake, doughnuts are any goodies, I would highly recommend Henze's Bakery!

Not welcoming for the public, no inside tables, a place to enjoy a donut and coffee or a trash can inside. Henze's bakery prepares great donuts etc. With real ingredients, unlike Dunkin donuts which uses imitation ingredients thus making their donuts taste like plastic or cardboard. I don't know about the seating arrangements inside Dunkin donuts because I don't go there. Rise & Roll bakery no longer requires the public to wear masks to enter their establishment, they have tables to enjoy your donut and coffee, they use quality ingredients to make their donuts etc. There are many establishments

I went into Henze’s Bakery for the first time today. They had a large selection of cookies, cakes, cupcakes and donuts! Everything is homemade and fresh. The young lady that helped me and checked me out was so sweet and friendly with me and my 2 year old daughter! I wish I got her name! Highly recommended! 🍩 🎂☺️

Been here quite a few times and and every time the girl behind the counter has been rude. I'm usually like whatever and just take my stuff and leave but today really bothered me. I went in with my son and she totally was being a smartass and acting so annoyed as I was asking about the pastries. I just wanted to know what kind of filling was in a few. I spent $15 on donuts and she was just throwing them all in bags..... how much do you have to spend to get them put nicely in a box.... 1/2 the chocolate flaked off from her throwing them in the bag and the toppings, cinnamon, sugar etc ended

Terrible experience. If you want to spent $250 on a cake that lasts 5 minutes before imploding, try this place. Purchased a 2 tier cake for my daughter's birthday. Placed it on a flat surface for the ride home (5 minutes) and drove slowly. When we arrived at our home the entire cake had fallen in on itself. Contacted owner to inform them of situation and was met with rudeness all around. I didn't ask for a refund, just wanted to let them know what happened. She blamed it on bad road conditions and said I should have told her sooner. She was extremely rude from the start of the

If you're splurging on doughnuts, get them here. Everything is great! Granted, I haven't tried EVERYTHING...but I've had my fair share. The maple doughnut is awesome. Cake donuts are great. They have a good variety of filled doughnuts. Also, the cream horn is amazing! Totally worth the calories. The doughnuts here beat rise n roll by a landslide.

I can always count on Henze's!!. I got the cake for a dear friend's birthday on Saturday, June 2, 2018 - and as usual....IT WAS PERFECT.
I had been sick - so I placed the order over the phone. When I went to pick it up...It was ready on time....It was decorated "BEAUTIFULLY" and when we went to eat it....IT WAS DELICIOUS.
They just KNOW how to do cakes for birthdays and all occasions. I always say - they take me from "zero to hero" when I order my cakes from them!! Thanks again for a job well done!!

My quest for a tasty Paczki is finally over. Of course this time next year I'm hoping I'll be well into a new job ideally in downtown Chicago (self-plug time...anyone in that area or NWI looking for a mid-seasoned systems analyst with Agile/Waterfall experience...ok end of self-plug...LOL*) and may or may not have the time to trek it the 35 minutes or so to Henze's for my annual Polish treat. Henze's Bakery certainly has amazing doughnuts. We are new to the area and used to chain doughnut places. We got a half dozen box with glaze doughnut, one of the open face cheese pastry (so good), custard fill, and an apple fritter. Very happy with the choices. Doughnuts were fresh and full of flavor. Prices are very reasonable too. Oh... one thing that was a huge plus for us is Henze's is open on Sunday.

This place always have fresh everything! It's a family own bakery, which sometimes is better then the big chains! I have been coming here for years..the Apple fritters are my hubby favorite and the cheese pocket is a must try!! The prices are great and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They also place holds for you, which if you are looking to get your favorite for the day, I would recommend! They sell out fast, but as I mentioned you can call ahead to place orders! When wanting a fresh bake good and and not wanting to break the bank, stop by!
