The Varner-Traul Vineyard was established by David Traul and Lena Varner in 2007 in Talent, Oregon. The vineyard is in an area known as the Wagner Creek Sub-basin, part of the Rogue Valley Appellation. There are over 15 acres of winegrapes planted in 2006 after site evaluation/analysis and recommendations from both Randy Gold and Greg Jones, PhD.
Working in the vineyard is a family affair, pulling from Lena's deep roots in the Rogue Valley. The core vineyard crew includes: Lena and her family members: Heather Davis (Lena's sister) and Uintah Keever (Lena's mother), as well as David when he has time away from his "day job". The vineyard is managed by Lena Varner and Mariano Gonzales.

Came by for an afternoon flight.
We did the all red flight and the mixed flight.
Both were just OK. We didn't find a wine that really fit our palate for this season so we tried a glass of the whites.
The wine that got my vote was the voigner.
Overall a great place to sip some afternoon wine not far from town.

They have some really good wine at this winery. Their red blends are particularly delicious. I really enjoyed their Tempranillo, Sublimus, Sangiovese, and Orion's Nebula.
They have a nice patio facing the parking lot with heaters and a cute patio on the side laid with wood chips.
Staff are very nice and accommodating. I really thought their wine tasting layout board with the red carnation for Valentines weekend was a sweet touch.

In my opinion, The best red wine blends in the Valley. Dancin and Irvine and Roberts make lovely Pinots and Chards, but for big reds this is the place. We have tasted here, brought guests from out of town and recently joined the club. Never been disappointed. Thank You for the great sales while we shelter in place and for the lovely daisies for Mother's Day.

We had a positively lovely experience at Ledger David Cellars! The staff was genuinely kind, and always checked on us and interacted with us. They offered us bread with dipping oils along with our tasting which was only 5 dollars! Wine was delicious and flavorful. At the end, they gave us delicious chocolates. The patio is decorated very cute with little flowers and twinkle lights. Bob Marley was playing in the background. Looking forward to returning next time I'm in Medford, OR which is hopefully very soon!

For sure the service here is king! Being from the bay area, I'm used to the snooty service of the Napa area wineries, but these folks were the complete opposite! Very laid back vibe, $5 tasting for 4 wines. They have a recommended list, but you can switch out for others. I did the rosé, the viognier, a red blend, and the tempranillo. The rosé was delightful - nice, light and not too sweet. The viognier was sweeter, but not too sugary. Both the red blend and the tempranillo were more fruit forward, not dry. The tempranillo had a good spice, quite delicious. I purchased the rosé because it

Friends brought an AMAZING 2015 Malbec over for dinner Saturday evening to pair with our Seared Duck a L'Orange, chopped Spanish salad, and creamed fiddlehead ferns and hedgehog mushrooms. It was magnificent.
Michael and I drove to their tasting room and scooped up a case this afternoon. So delicious.

Was $5 for four wine tasting. Great atmosphere. Wait staff were very nice and even gave us an extra glass of wine for free. Went home with 3 bottles of wine and I'll definitely be back. Also they have pipes with misters attached to help cool down the outdoor seating making it comfortable on hot days.

The outstanding quality of not only the wine, but also the tasting room and staff makes this *THE* place to go for special wine from this little known/praised appellation. Each wine is crafted with care from local grapes and showcases the extreme skill and sophistication of the winemakers. The Cabernet Franc (yes, as a single varietal) was the standout for me from this place. They also have a Viognier that will blow you away!
In addition to its close proximity to the interstate, making it easier than most of the local wineries to get to, it's also nestled directly between the world famous

Ledger David Cellars recently took over Daisy Creek winery. Same location, right next to Rogue Valley Creamery.
This is a charming, small tasting room with friendly vibes. They have small tables for sitting and cheese samples too. In the evening, come for the live music. The Thursday we were there it was going to be a Brazilian accoustical guitarist.
Mr. B found their 2010 Primoris Chenin Blanc to be a keeper for him. $20. We found that many of their wines were priced quite low, but were very good tasting.
Sample their wines for $5, but that is waived with any bottle purchase. They also
