The latest issue of AlumNotes presents stories of alumnae who have been a source of support to their. We at the Alumnae/i Association love to know what is happening with graduates young and old, near and far. Send us your updates, and we'll publish them on our Alumnae/i Updates page or in AlumNotes.

Let the community know what you are up to! This is a member benefit for Alumnae/i Association members. The topic for the first session was the status of admissions for the Class of 2027. Watch on demand on YouTube or through the HCHSAA Facebook page. On Facebook: please see The HCHSAA LGBTQ* Alums group and The Official HCHS Black & Latinx Alumni Group.
Services
This website is devoted to the alumnae/i of Hunter College High School, to foster community and develop relations between alums of all ages. Here, you can register for upcoming Alumnae/i Association events, read the latest news from the school and other Alumni, plan your milestone reunion, and give back to our alma mater.
Mission and Purpose - Pursuant to its mission statement, "HCHSAA is a volunteer social and charitable organization committed to the recruitment, development, and advancement of the gifted students and alumnae/i of Hunter College High School."

History - HCHSAA was established by a group of alumnae in the early 1970s during the New York City and State fiscal crises to provide support to Hunter College High School, when it was at risk of being closed.
The HCHSAA has regional chapters all over the country and around the world, providing alums based outside of New York City the chance to meet and spend time with fellow Hunterites in their areas. It used to be that there would be a single point person per region, but with the help of Facebook, the HCHSAA is now able to downsize that role, lifting the burden of mediation off of one individual and making communication easier between local alums.
Photography and videography may be shot during our events. By virtue of your attendance at our events, you consent to use of images and/or video of you by the Hunter College High School Alumnae/i Association ("HCHSAA") and agree that such images and/or video shall be the sole property of the HCHSAA.
With the Board's decision to reduce membership dues to zero this year, all HCHS alumnae/i and those who attended the HS for at least three years are now considered members of the HCHSAA and invited to participate in the Annual meeting. We have published FAQs here. Annette B. Almazan is a 1993 HCHS alum.

*Just a review of the physical location/campus.*
A huge, rambling, campus. Twisting and turning, both horizontally and vertically!
I had a positive and helpful exchange with a security guard in the visitor's center--she helped direct me to the 110 69th street location (which is beautiful--though covered in scaffolding! Let's hope for a lovely reveal in 2022).

HUNTER SUCKS!! Don’t waste your money at this institution. The professors are pretty decent but the administration I have dealt with in a myriad of departments is willfully dense & on the borderline of incompetent. I’m not sure if they don’t know how to do their jobs properly or are not willing to do so adequately. The only admin I have always admired throughout my experience at Hunter is Ms. Valerie Lyons because she is not only GREAT at her job, but is candid, has compassion for the students and is actually willing to help. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the staff. They would

This school has by far the worst communication with students. They ignore email's & dont care if you are having trouble with classes or not. Nicole is the worst advisor for not answering emails and not helping , she made me miss last semester just because she kept cancelling meetings. 🖕😡

I would give this school a 0 if I could. Similar to some of my fellow classmates, the college never responds to my emails. I can’t get in touch with anyone. My counselor Nikole Feliciano is rude and has a horrible attitude and should not be working at the school. They are not allowing people to take online classes! THERE IS NO SOCIAL DISTANCING IN SCHOOL! People are getting sick left and right! This should be reported because it’s a serious issue!!!!!!

Any other time than the pandemic, this college is the bees knees. But the ventilation in the higher floor classrooms are in need of more scrutiny, with more surface cleaning (such as desks). The upper floor classrooms are less than prepared to handle social distancing, given their nature and overpacked classroom sizes. It's still a mystery as to why distanced means of learning cannot be chosen at the discretion of the students.

The education is great, but the school doesn't care about you in the least. They're completely disorganized, often rude, and will do things like lose your financial paperwork and then claim you never sent it. (This happened to me and SEVERAL people I know.) All in all, if I had to do it all again, I would probably pick a different school.

I'm sure when things settle down the atmosphere won't be so chaotic but since this was only the 2nd day back it was quite a mess. No organization, lines forming and people don't know what they're standing on line for. I was lucky to get a security guard who was patient and knowledgeable to guide my daughter in the right direction. I wish I knew his name. Anyway, great school but very unorganized today!

It’s a pretty good college among all the CUNY schools. It’s the main campus of Hunter College, the other two big campus are in uptown(for social work major ) and east village(nursing school ). The library and classrooms are nice. However, the office services are really bad, and some people who work there are not nice, sometimes they’re really mean!!!

Hunter College is a vital source of education in the heart of the city. This institution does excellent work providing a high-quality education for an outstanding number of both graduates and undergraduates students every year. I am extremely grateful for the educational opportunities I experienced here.
