Cog Wild Bicycle Tours & Shuttles
Cog Wild Bicycle Tours is all about bringing people together for fun adventures in nature. We're a family business that provides daily guided mountain bike rides, mountain bike skills instruction and shuttles to the popular trailheads around Bend and Oakridge, Oregon.

We provide guide services for multi day adventures on the backcountry trails throughout Oregon and logistical support for cycling and non-cycling related outdoor fun such as Pacific Crest Trail and private outdoor events.Cog Wild acknowledges that we operate on the traditional territories of tribes of Oregon who have lived in this region since time immemorial.
Services
Located at LOGE Camp Hotel, Cog Wild is at the boundary of the Deschutes National Forest, which means you can ride trails all the way back to our parking lot. The mountain bike season in Bend runs approximately from May through October, depending on the weather and snow conditions. Cog offers daily guided mountain bike rides and skills instruction for all levels of riders.
There are so many reasons to ride with a guide: camaraderie, safety, insiders view of the trail system, suggestions on where to ride next and mechanical support. Our guides are professionals; they take duty of care seriously and will make sure you are on the trails that are right for you.

All of Cog's guided rides include a shuttle to the higher trailheads for a "gravity assisted cross country" ride, snacks including Picky Bars, and post ride beverages from Deschutes Brewery Polar Seltzer and Humm Kombucha.Full day rides also include a seriously good sandwich from Nancy P's Bakery. Santa Cruz hard tail or full suspension rental bikes are available for all guided ride clients at an additional cost.
Are you new to mountain biking, or want to learn new skills? Or are you a regular rider and ready to take it to the next level? Hiring a professional mountain bike coach can take your riding from "I'm just gonna try to hang on" to "I've got this." You'll be ready to tackle any obstacle in your path.
Here is how our shuttles work: meet at Cog Wild (located at LOGE Camp, just west of Bend). Jump on the shuttle, which travels west on the Cascade Lakes Highway to Wanoga, Swampy or Dutchman Trailheads. From your trailhead, choose a route for a singletrack adventure back to our location. All shuttles are non-guided.
Oakridge mountain biking is some of Oregon's finest. A former timber town, Oakridge is now known for its hundreds of miles of sweet single track that beckons riders from all over the world. Oakridge is steep, green, and loamy. In two words - hero dirt. Cog Wild provides guided rides, skills instruction and mountain bike shuttles in Oakridge, Oregon.

We had a great time! We did a half-day adventure with two novices (my wife and daughter) and one OK rider (me) - and we all enjoyed ourselves. We rented bikes - which were excellent, and our guide (Russ) was mellow and with just the right balance of providing guidance and letting us ride. We finished with some snacks including an excellent Deschutes Brewery beer. A memorable day.

I've been riding with Cog Wild for years, I'm not sure how many, 6 or 7 or more. They offer a convenient way to get up to the mountain trailheads. I usually ride from home in Bend to their office location so I don't have to use a car at all. I just ride home after hitting the trails. I highly recommend their service. Nice people too. They make the experience enjoyable.

Cogwild took great care of our 13 person group. They organized our pick up at our campsite and helped us reorganize our trail ride order to make the most sense.
Also, the driver helped resolve some unexpected problems that came up.
One of our riders had a mechanical and the shuttle driver took him in to the local bike shop got the bike repaired and still made it to the meet point in time.
I plan on using Cogwild again and I would highly recommend them for your mountain bike shuttle needs.

Katie is absolutely the best mountain biking guide! We had such an incredible time. My husband and I are pretty much opposite skill sets when it comes to mountain biking (he is very confident and takes risk... me, not so much), but Katie was able to craft an experience that was really fun for both of us. She also gave us some great local recommendations of places to visit in Bend and really made our trip awesome.

We did the beginner-intermediate half day and hired a guide. Erica was a blast and offered us multiple different ways to get back depending on how we felt. She challenged us and made the trip so exciting. I was apprehensive about hiring a guide because I always like to ‘do my own thing’ BUT it was great because I didn’t have to worry about getting lost or looking at a map the whole time. It could be easy to get lost if you aren’t familiar with the area because of all the logging roads that go nowhere. There was a lot of single track downhill flow! It was so fun! Getting to use a soft tail

I took shuttles two days and both were perfect. Super simple to reserve online, then just show up, check in, and load up. Traveling w/ one car the value is amazing, a really good way to make most of your trip. I'd prefer this service in a group too, will not do the multiple drives up and down the mountain here ever again.

We have had two great experiences with Cog Wild. We have taken the shuttle to Swampy Lakes and to Dutchman. Both shuttles were awesome and were offered at a very reasonable price. The Cog Wild staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They took great care of us and our bikes, and they provided excellent advice about the trails. We'll be back!

This Cogwild shuttle experience was excellent. The first for our family of four (kids are 9 and 11 and experienced riders). Before we left a nice Cascadia Junior Cycling coach offered the kids popsicles and my son warmed up on the Loge skills track.
We hitched a ride up to Wanoga snowpark where the kids enjoyed the pump track. We then headed down Funner which started off as a nice flowy trail. The kids yelled, “this is fun” despite having to traverse rocks on foot several times.
We took a lunch break at the intersection of Storm King and COD with a few Nutella sandwiches and entertainment

Cog Wild was fantastic to deal with from beginning to end and Zach was an awesome guide for our mountain bike half day sampler. We rented bikes from different places and rode trails from Idaho to Oregon during our recent trip, and Cog Wild in Bend was by far the most professional and with highest quality (Santa Cruz) bikes of the whole trip. My 14 year old son and I had an absolute blast! Definitely recommend Cog Wild. Great group of people and super fun adventure options.

We've used Cogwild for as long as they've been around, and this last trip did not disappoint. The driver was friendly and timely. She gave advise about trail conditions and routes. Van/trailer clean and safe. They were flexible when we wanted to change times/drop off locations. Will be back!

Cog Wild was a great place to rent from for our first mountain biking trip. There are trails right behind the rental to test out the bike before hopping on a shuttle to start up the hill. Despite some falls, we really enjoyed our trip. Bring plenty of water with you on your ride.

After a flat from a fall mid-ride, they came out and brought us a new tube and got us riding again. Also gave us a tutorial on riding: "...stay low, like a picnic table...". Finished the ride with a beer and would do it again.

I booked a shuttle up Dead Mountain in Oakridge. The driver was very professional. He took great care of the bikes and all the passengers inside. The gravel roads are a bit steep and he made sure to drive with safe/slow, so no one got car sick or freaked out. I will book with this company again.

This summer my son and I used CW shuttle to enjoy the Alpine trail. Unfortunately for Cog we were the only 2 guests but they went up with us anyway, all people were super nice. On our way down my son made a mistake and fell (later I found out that he broke both his forearm bones). I was able to call Cog Wild for help. They had to scramble a different shuttle+driver for the already scheduled trip and they sent a driver for our rescue. They took our call very seriously, the driver was very quick to get to us (I think he made it in 20 minutes!). The charge was extremely reasonable for basically a

My husband and I went mountain biking while on our visit to Bend. Our tour guide, Pia, was great! Bend has endless veins of biking trails that are safe and amazingly beautiful! There are trails for everyone!! My husband is an advanced rider and myself, not so much, but Pia was able to cater to both of our likings! Scott will definitely return to be shuttled to the upper trails for more technical riding! Mahalo!

We used Cog Wild shuttles 4 years ago & yes, they are still fantastic! Since then they have moved their office from downtown Bend to a VERY good location at LOGE (https://www.logecamps.com) off of HWY 46 / SW Century Drive towards Mt Batchelor. Essentially folks can roll out of bed at the LOGE & ride or camp nearby on forestry land. What is even better is Cog Wild in now closer to the network of trails. We planned our trip to Oregon before we knew there was a fire outside of Bend. Between the fires & then an unexpected rain storm we had to change our shuttle plans twice to avoid

Imagine driving 7 hours only to find out your shuttle has been cancelled when you arrive. Probably a lesson to not have used a shuttle to begin with. After all, the climb is part of the ride.

I get it. You can't afford to run a shuttle for just one guy. What bummed me out was that you told me of the cancellation by email and not until the morning of my afternoon shuttle ride. An email that I couldn't read because I was already driving to catch your shuttle.

A phone call or text would have been great, and maybe something closer to 24 hours in advance. That would help give out-of-towners

I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review! My husband and I have used Cog Wild 3 times (2016, 2018, 2019) and we've had a wonderful experience each time, well mostly.

In 2016, we took the shuttle over to McKenzie River trail and definitely had a good time. Unfortunately, I can't remember who our shuttle drivers were, but they were awesome! I left with all good vibes and was looking forward to utilizing their shuttles in the future. 5 stars for sure had I reviewed this in 2016.

In 2018, I was the lucky winner of the Sea Otter Weekend Getaway in Oakridge. It

If your coming to Bend to ride bikes, your time is best spent using Cog Wild to play on our trails! As a local, I love using their services to get me out there. Everyone who works there dirt surfs and knows all the trail beta. If your shuttle driver is Todd, your in for a treat!

Great experience with everyone at Cog Wild. We had so much fun even with the rain. Seth was a wonderful guide and patient with me since I am new to mountain biking. My confidence increased as the ride went along and at the end of ride, I wanted to keep going! Of course, there was beer at the other end so we had to stop for the day. Thanks guys!

Top of the line bike equipment & we had a pretty good guide. Everyone in our group had never mountain biked before, so it was a learning experience. We took one of the easier trails.... not sure how many miles it was, but halfway through he let us pick a couple different ways back (either harder and longer or shorter and easier) which was nice . They also provided snacks halfway and drinks afterwards. I also bought a jacket from their little store and it's my favorite jacket now (super comfy, fits great).

This was our first time shipping our bike to a destination and Cog Wild was nice enough to accept it for us. They let us know when it arrived (It was a HUGE box as it had our tandem mountain bike in it). Thank you Cog Wild for accepting our bike for us!!

We also did 3 days of shuttles with Cog Wild, what a great time. 2 of our Shuttles were from Bend to various mnt bike trails and the 3rd shuttle was with Phil out of Oakridge Bike Shop in Oakridge, Oregon up to the top of the Alpine trail.

All the staff we so helpful, had no issues with our tandem and ensured it was secured on the vans and

Our guide, Gabe, was great! We started out at Swampy and had a pretty adventurous ride. I'm a street biker, but picked up on mountain biking in no time. I recommend getting the full suspension bike if you are not used to mountain biking. They also loaned gloves as part of the gear...this was much appreciated. We did the half day sampler and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for adventures in Bend.

I frequently use the Cog Wild Shuttle as I am local to Bend. On Oct 7,8,9 I was lucky enough to join them with Lindsey Voreis for an MTB Clinic at Oakridge. Lindsey, along with Erika and Sara, provided great skills instruction to our VERY diverse group of riders, and by the end of the Week-end I was riding the incredible Oakridge trails with huge confidence.
The food and lodging was first class as well.
Special thanks to Lindsey for including the guys on this one! I will be doing it again!

Awesome day out with the Cogwild crew today, we had a small group of 8 with two guides who took us on a half-day ride, the Single Track Sampler.

Local knowledge was super helpful, the bikes were in excellent condition and the weather was unbeatable for enjoyment.

The guys were a little disorganised to begin with but once everything was underway we were smooth sailing.

Don't try and navigate yourself, do a session with these guys to get you setup.
