Services
1 Month Plan - a perfect starter plan for the athlete looking to fine-tune nutrition intake to improve athletic performance. We specialize in working with Ironman athletes, endurance and ultra-endurance athletes, all cycling disciplines, and strength and power athletes. We work with all levels of athletes, from beginners to professionals.
A personal story from our own Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Jacque Maldonado, an accomplished triathlete with five Full Ironman finishes, a dozen Half Ironman finishes, and 7 podium awards. In training for my first Full Ironman, I made some mistakes with my own nutrition, despite having two degrees in nutrition and 15 years of experience running full marathons.
The initial one-hour visit is used to discuss your health history, lifestyle and nutritional needs. Then, we will develop a plan, set goals and check in to evaluate your progress at your follow-up visits. If you have already worked with us for the 1 month or 3 month Fueling for Health Plan and want to continue working with us, we offer Maintenance Plans for continued support and accountability.
By understating your sweat rate and electrolyte composition we can develop a precise fluid plan for your next race. Not only will we help you gather your data but we will walk you through your results and work with you to create a fueling plan for training.
Some factors that contribute to dehydration include reduced opportunity to drink during game time, high sweat losses, heat and humidity, protective gear, fluids upsetting the stomach, reduced appetite due to game time nerves, dislike for the flavor of beverages being offered, and more.In addition to dehydration being a problem, hyponatremia (low blood sodium level) can also be a major concern.

I began working with Racers Edge in January of this year for my solo effort in the 2021 Race Across America. Nicole and Jacque work closely with my coach, Frank Pike, and it was through him that I contacted Racers Edges. The Race Across America,RAAM, is the toughest bicycle race in the world in which solo racers have just 12 days to cross the continental US. A 3,037 mile non stop race against the clock.Working closely with Racers Edge we were able to formulate a solid nutrition and hydration plan for the race. We also worked on making sure my electrolytes were in check especially sodium level.

Nutrition is truly the 4th discipline in Triathlons. I am glad I decided to work with Racer's Edge Nutrition to support me in my upcoming 70.3 and Ironman. My GI issues have gotten worse over the years and really impact my performance in endurance, especially the run. I did my best to follow a Low FODMAP diet. Race prep meals and race day breakfast ideas from Jacque really set me up for success in both races. I qualified for the World Championships in both distances thanks to the nutritional support received from Racer's Edge! I will be able to take the information I learned during the process

I had such a wonderful experience with Nicole at Racer’s Edge! She helped me establish healthy eating habits and menus that match my lifestyle and cooking skills, advised me on the correct supplements to enhance my health, and worked with me on the mental game as well! Jacque at Racer's edge helped me recognize food groups & nutrition I was missing, but most importantly helped me through the sticking points that kept me from making a healthy diet a habit. I've learned how to plan my meals for the week and make healthy food I like at home, it's actually been easier than what I was doing. I've also decreased my weekly food bill significantly since I don't buy so much packaged food & I don't order take out anymore.

I consulted with Nicole regarding issues/complications related to adverse impact of relocating to a high altitude environment. She was attentive, responsive, proactive and practical. I was very impressed and pleased with her exceptional combination of a) medical knowledge/expertise/experience and b) practical limitations (how to make a treatment plan that could be achieved). She was able to quickly and effectively help establish a nutrition plan for me while also identifying particular medical issues that required further review and monitoring. Her advice was very effective in addressing my issues

€œIt is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this testimonial for Racers Edge Nutrition. I am a Personal trainer/Triathlon coach and have always been searching for help not only for myself but also my clients. Racers Edge has been a great fit for both. The commitment and passion they have for helping others is like none I have experienced. They have helped us reach our fitness and race goals, improve your overall health and knowledge and provide us with the skills to make lasting changes.

Recently I changed my diet to a plant-based food, which was a great decision, however I was a bit concern that I am not getting enough protein and with high intensity of training coming up I was looking to someone who can advice for any adjustment if needed.
Jacque, was a perfect match for my needs. Her background as triathlete, more or less same age as I am and most important she is doing this type of diets for many years, help to build a trust and quick effective plan that addressed my goals.

As a cycling coach I know the importance of nutrition and how it plays a role in your performance and overall success as an athlete. When I was looking for some advice and changes in my own nutrition I found Racer's Edge Nutrition. After speaking with many folks, I went with Nicole because she has elite athlete experience in her background and knows the push and pulls of training and the role nutrition plays in that equation. She was also very responsive and her communication was prompt and thorough.
After working with her on a personal level I now work with her professionally as well and recommend

I was looking for a way to increase my performance and also "lean out". I am in my mid 50's and I called my Doctor for a recommendation. He properly sent me to a weight loss doctor. This was not what I was looking for. I was looking for an individual who would take my commitment to fitness and plan a personalized program that would help me meet my goals.
I met Nicole and she was exactly what I was looking for in every way. I had some dietary restrictions that we needed to work with. She tailored a plan for me. She is fantastic at listening to what you are doing and where you are at from not only
