Miera.

The restaurant was clean and had a great diner vibe and set up. Waitstaff was on it and friendly. The food itself was okay, but I think it was way over priced for the fare.

I know about the hype, but it is overhyped. The food is overpriced and bland. Their appetizers were okay but the entree was disappointing. I had to add salt to taste something. The staff was very nice, I think they could tell I didn't enjoy my food and tried making up for it. The decor is nice but there is so much potential for this place. I recommend going for a snack or dessert, don't go for a meal.

The owl cafe as I know it has died. I went in for a meal yesterday and the prices have tripled! The food is mediocre at best otherwise horrible and there was not a recognizable face in the place. One waitress would not keep her mask on and I had to tell our waitress it was bothering me. Our waitress was fabulous but she had to discount my food because SHE could actually see it was bad. I did not have to tell her.
I will not return again. RIP the owl cafe.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend. The food was very bland almost flavorless. The waiter was nice. Unsanitary, saw a waiter touch food with her bare hand not washed no glove, then put a plate on top because it wasn’t warm. Another waiter scraped mashed potatoes from one plate to another and served it like that also with no gloves or washed hands. The floors were dirty everywhere. And prices are high for not good food in my opinion. I’ve had some great food for half the price at other places. Thought we should give this place a try but will not be coming back.

Decent diner food. The Owl Cafe resembles a traditional diner with tiny jukeboxes placed around the restaurant and typical diner decor. I ordered the veggie garden omelette with home fries and sourdough toast. The omelette was unexceptional, but as good as any that I have ordered from a diner. In addition, the home fries were equally plain. The sourdough toast was scrumptious with the perfect amount of butter pre-applied to the toast. Overall, I had a good experience at The Owl Cafe and would recommend them for breakfast.

Owl cafe was a welcome stop on a road trip my dad and I were taking. Very cute ambiance, service was very friendly, and the food was good. I had a veggie omelet and my dad had a half order of the French toast meal, we loved every bit of it. Prices were a little higher than I was expecting but not awful. I'd come back again for sure.

We stopped for lunch the day before Christmas Eve. Had the greatest waiter, his name was Noel. Food was fast and fantastic. No service problems here. I highly recommend. Ask to sit in Noel's section you won't be sorry.

Passing through town and this little gem was across from our hotel.
This is a must try out place.
I had a cream of chicken soup with hatch green chilies and it was one of the best soups ever.
Place was clean and everyone had a mask on
We will stop again.

Solid, consistently good diner food, with a side order of 1950's Route 66 nostalgia throwback included. Green chile cheeseburger is the signature item for which they are justly famous. Shakes are very flavorful and very big. The Owl Cafe is my archetypal New Mexico eatery where I take out of town guests if we only have time for one meal.

Their pre-meal beans with a dab of green chile on top are among the very best I've found anywhere. They bring a little bowl of whole beans that are always cooked just right - firm & plump. Green chile topping delivers good punch in the heat department

No no no! I am so confused as to why the rating are good! The place is absolutely adorable and the service is great but the FOOD NO! It's absolutely blend! The potatoes are just boiled no flavor! It's really just not worth!

I'm truly shocked at all the positive reviews. I went there today for lunch and boy what a waste! We ordered the Aloha sandwich, a green chile cheeseburger, and a shake.
We get the shake first and it's not bad! That is, until we found the larvae-looking creature in it. I saved it on the napkin to show the waitress. She offered to make another shake but we were pretty grossed out. It was taken off our bill but no manager or apology.
The burger was ok. The texture of the meat was a bit mealy and reminded me of school cafeteria food. The Aloha sandwich was alright(at best). It was 16.95

The fried pickles were fire! It comes with a side of ranch and horseradish dip. The ranch dip was like any other ranch dip but you have to try the horseradish dip. It's mild, refreshing and doesn't have that big kick like a normal horseradish. It pairs really well with the fried pickles.
The carne adovada dish on the other hand while looking scrumptious it lacked the umami punch. The beans and rice were dry as well. It just came up really short. The chicken in the chicken enchiladas tasted like it came out of a can. Same as the adovada, short on flavor.
Whenever I come back I'll

Well, the pineapple shake was good....
Our waitress seemed annoyed that we were even there. She brought our food, and then didn’t check on us or even come near our table until she showed up with the check. The bacon cheese fries were terrible. Melted/on the verge of burnt, shredded cheese, and burnt bacon on top. Not even edible. My husbands burger was extremely dry. We wanted to ask for more bbq sauce, but couldn’t get our waitresses attention. I asked for no onion on my burger. Low and behold it had more than your average two or three slices. Once you put raw onion on anything, the flavor

What a fun, kitschy place with great food this was. Built in 1986 but made to look like a classic, mid-century Route 66 attraction, you'd never guess it wasn't a legit vintage diner. I got the breakfast burrito with chorizo, Christmas style. It tasted great, especially the chorizo, which they cooked down to perfect crumbles of spicy goodness and piled into the tortilla along with the fluffy eggs and cheese. The chili was really spicy, the green moreso than the red, and my dining companion was visibly sweating. I'll definitely eat there again the next time I'm in town.

The owl Cafe is brilliant in that it's not pretending to be anything it's not. Are the burgers cooked with the finest beef west of the Mississippi? No. Are they also, however, of the best classic cafe, simple, green chile burgers you will ever have? 100% yes! With burgers, folks often forget that sometimes simple is better and that the basics takes you were you need to go. In this sense, the owl cafe is perfect. In it's food, general vibes, and uh-mazing costumer services!!

Expectations were a bit high due to reviews. Location was convenient. Fun diner vibe and staff was super friendly and attentive. Beans w/green chilies were brought to us right away and very yummy. Good selection of draft beer.
Shared an enchilada plate, sauce was good but rice had no flavor, just red.
Mom had the spaghetti, sauce too sweet, & meatballs, very bland.
Ok if you want some classic diner food.

Family came in Monday afternoon, wasn't too busy. Has a '50s diner aesthetic with golden oldies music playing. The wife and I both had the Albuquerque patty melt with cheddar cheese and fries. It was fantastic, well seasoned and juicy and the fries were perfect. When we were first seated they brought out a bowl of pinto beans with green chilies and crackers which also was divine. For an appetizer we had the "owl" onion loaf which was a new take on fried onions for us. Service was great, everyone was friendly and was not disappointed.

The OWL cafe had pretty good food in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Even though there was a wait, it went quickly. My husband and I each ordered a green chili cheeseburger. He got sweet potato fries and I got a salad with ranch. And we each got a piece of pie. The pie's were okay. The burgers were delicious, as were the fries and salad. The salad dressing was phenomenal. I would come back again!

One last New Mexico meal before my husband and I are officially moved across the country, and this is the place we chose! Why you ask? Because we were craving a delicious Green Chili Cheeseburger, and we knew this place would provide! We were not disappointed!! Probably one of the best OG Green Chili Cheeseburgers I have had in years. Add to it, that the Owl Cafe will make you a MEAN shake for dessert to go with it.

Fun Fact: Instead of Chips & Salsa or Chips & Guac, The Owl Cafe will give you a courtesy Green Chili Beans & Crackers. If that's not New Mexican, I don't know

First visit - four of us. Arrived around 5:30 and it was not too busy. I want to highlight the food, which was my issue. To get to the point, the overall flavor, food temperature, and quality were lacking for all of us as follows:

I ordered a creamy Sant$a Fe soup - it was barely warm and too salty.

Diner 2 - ordered chicken fajitas (large size). We were going to split this dish but there was little chicken and barely any onions or green peppers. The Spanish rice was dry, the refried beans were ok - not hot. Very little food for the money. The three flour pita-like tortillas were ridiculously

The Owl Cafe has so many "Best In The City" awards posted on their doors that my friend and myself thought we'd be in for a real treat. My friend ordered their Breakfast Burrito and asked for hash browns. She was told that they only had the home fries available, so she went with it. I ordered a Huevos Rancheros with the home fries.
Their "Home Fries" were parboiled quartered potato that had been sautéed and some burnt, with onions and bell pepper. The potato's taste raw and they were served cold.
My friend's burrito was ok, the beans and eggs on my Huevos Rancheros

Wow. So clientele well old white side BUT omg the food. The meat in the burger truly some of the best I have ever had in my life. And prices not much more than a "Mc Burger" etc. and staff omg so nice.

Been over a year since we moved here for so cal and the baja burger definitely has a rubios fish taco throwback feel.

Kitch aside (and I love kitch) it's a great meal for a great price.
