Doug Lerch
Doug Lerch is a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience counseling individuals, children and families. Doug earned his B.A. in Human Ecology and Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. He is the founder of Seeds of Awareness, a non-profit organization transforming schools and communities with mindfulness and nature based services.

Doug offers Professional Development trainings to organizations, parents, and businesses in Mindfulness, JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity Inclusion), Trauma-informed care, and much more. Doug has 3 years training in Gestalt Therapy, and 7 years of ongoing training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP) which has profoundly deepened the impact of his work.

My work with children, adolescents, and families provides emotional support to fascilitate self discovery, affect regulation and personal growth. I create a safe, nurturing, fun and healing environment for this work. My methods of child and family therapy are relational based.

My approach to child therapy includes Sandplay Therapy, Art Therapy, Family Systems, Play Therapy, Mindfulness and Awareness, Nature Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and AEDP influenced therapy.
Mindfulness is more than meditation, it is a way of living life. Practicing mindfulness can help us bring love, kindness, and joy into our families, shifting our family structure away from stress and towards togetherness and well-being. In this talk we will learn the basics of mindfulness: what is it, how to do it, and why it is helpful.
