The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township in Indianapolis started the Indiana Online Academy in 1999, the first online school in Indiana. It soon became apparent virtual education could benefit students from all over Indiana. The Indiana Online Academy expanded and was geared for students who needed to earn additional credits for any one of a variety of reasons.
Homeschooling has become increasingly popular in recent years, as parents have gained increased access to the tools they need to allow their children to learn at home. Achieve Virtual helps high school-age students in the pursuit of a degree, offering access to certified Indiana educators without having to set foot in a traditional classroom.
Achieve Virtual Education Academy is an online high school, fully accredited and recognized by the Indiana Department of Education with a full range of courses aligned with the standards of the state of Indiana. Our online counselors are here to consult with you, looking over your educational history to date and identifying the courses you will need to take in order to achieve a high school degree.
As you can probably tell from the previous paragraphs, pursuing some or all of your diploma requirements in an online high school has a huge benefit in terms of flexibility compared to traditional school. Think about this flexibility first in terms of timing and an overall schedule. The traditional public school calendar runs from September to June with numerous days off for holidays, teacher workshops, and other events.
