Services
Indianapolis Metropolitan High School is a best-fit high school designed to support students experiencing significant barriers to their education. We are looking for passionate, talented and dedicated individuals to join our team. We are an early adopter and leader in the Positive School Discipline Institutes and Peace Learning Center cohorts.
We encourage our students to go beyond academics and participate in our athletic programs, clubs and internship opportunities. No matter where your passion lies, we have great programs to keep you involved. Clubs based on student interests, including robotics, game, crochet, and a national award-winning Design Team.
The Indianapolis Met dress code ensures that all students are safe and helps to maintain an atmosphere of respectful communication and learning. The United States Supreme Court has ruled that though students retain the right of freedom of expression, schools may establish dress codes to protect the learning environment.
Indianapolis Metropolitan High School offers courses for students to earn the Core 40, Academic Honors or Technical Honors Diploma. All core courses, including Spanish and Pre-Calculus, are offered in-person with small class sizes and individualized attention. Indianapolis Met has a 1:65 ratio of academic coach to student, so our students and families are able to frequently interact with the staff members responsible for scheduling.
Every student has an academic coach who plays the role of guidance counselor, post-secondary coach and personal cheerleader. Academic coaches have a caseload of approximately 65 students per coach, which allows them to monitor every student's attendance and grades and to be in frequent contact with students and families.

Ms Tyrie is the most uncaring person in this school, she acts like she will help you but in the end she will on sabatoge you. I know from personal experience. Do not let her help your (child)ren. She will not tell you what you need until it is to late. She is the reason why my child was not able to retain their Scholarship funds, she is a devil.

Not sure why the name is so generic right now, but INDY MET is filled with some of the smartest, and hardest working adults I've ever worked with. Add to that a student body who truly knows a diverse amount of struggle, and you can't help but be amazed. The best is yet to come for this scrappy urban charter! GO PUMAS!

When we moved to Indy, we decided to put our kids in a charter school. I'd love to do a private school, but don't have the scratch for that, & really like the ideas IndyMet was promoting. They specialize in helping kids who are behind, as my older son had flunked a couple classes in his sophomore year, but also excels at challenging Type A motivated on-course kids like my younger son. It's run/owned by Goodwill. (yes the thrift store people) IndyMet offers small class sizes, personal attention, interest-driven curriculum, rather than an 'Ok, now we have to do geometry&apos
