Services
Mount St. Rita Health Centre is situated atop the hill on Sumner Brown Road in the northeast community of Cumberland. Set among 240 acres of rolling hills, wooded glades and colorful gardens, our three-story brick building offers our patients and residents the beauties of the rural countryside.

Building on a tradition of excellence that has been our hallmark for more than 40 years, Mount St. Rita Health Centre offers not only the highest quality nursing and clinical care, but also an outstanding quality of life.We provide short-term rehabilitation services as part of our Mercy Rehabilitation program and long-term care, along with engaging social activities.
We are a Catholic health ministry, providing healing and care for the whole person, in service to all in our communities. We show respect, caring and sensitivity towards all, honoring the dignity of each person, especially the poor, vulnerable and suffering. We promote justice and ethical behavior, and responsibly steward our human, financial and environmental resources.
In the early part of the 20th century, Mount St. Rita served as a novitiate and convent for Sisters of Mercy. Responding to both the health care needs of the Sisters of Mercy and the health care needs of the community, in 1971 the Mount (as the Centre is fondly known) transformed itself by becoming a licensed nursing home.

Covenant's family of organizations includes hospitals, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, assisted living, independent senior residences and adult day care organizations throughout New England and Pennsylvania.

My mom currently resides at MSR and I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all the compassion, professional and loving care that she receives at the facility. She is a very difficult person is deal with and the staff take exceptional care of her and have hearts of gold. I couldn't recommend a better facility for her. I live out-of-state and can't see her due to the distance. I feel comfortable and at peace with her there.

My Mom was a resident here for several weeks, she received excellent care. The staff was wonderful, taking time to have bedtime tea with her, she is very picky and would definitely come back if she needs nursing home care. The most caring and dedicated staff I've seen in a long time. Very clean facility, she loved her private room. Staff came around everyday to find out what she liked/wanted to eat. Visitation was by appointment but I understand, I would rather know she safe from Covid and our family facetimed her everyday.

This place is a living nightmare and a jail. This place is the exact example of the movie on netflix called" I CARE A LOT". They took my grandmothers phone and locked it up. There are no phones in the rooms. they wont allow my grandmother to make any phone calls. The doctors and nurses don't call you with any updates. This place neglects their patients in so many ways. Even though covid regulations have been lifted on wearing masks, this place still wont allow more than one visitor. You might as well say they don't allow visitors at all, considering you need to make an appointment to go visit bc

One of the most horrific experiences I've ever been through. Thank God Almighty my mom is getting out of that hell hole dump tomorrow 4/23/21. Please people DO NOT LET ONE OF YOUR LOVED ONES END UP THERE!!!!!!! If I find one thing wrong with my mom I WILL BE RETAINING A LAWYER. Mark my word. I have already called the Department of health to report them. PLEASE PEOPLE DON'T SEND SOMEONE YOU LOVE TO THAT PLACE.

I would not recommend this facility. Very disappointing. I found very interesting that another reviewer called Dr Klufus by the name Dr Clueless ... Agree!
Time for a new social worker as well! I have dealt with other social workers for my sister's care and saw how a true professional social worker acts.

I feel compelled to comment based on the room I was offered for my 85yo mother. If they tell you they have a small room, beware! The room they had available was semi-private which was acceptable but the room was originally a small private. The furniture, beds, recliners and side tables were jammed together. The privacy curtain could not be closed. The bureau was missing knobs. The armoire had old pieces of tape and adhesive still stuck to it. No AC but said window unit installed in summer. Tiny window with what looked like mold on the sill. Painted walls patched & dirty. Horrible. I'm sorry I can

My wife was here 3 times. 2 were good the last was poor to fair. The doctor they use Dr Clufus does not talk to you or will he call you after asking 5 times. I say clueless.
Nursing staff Jim, gi gi are great.
One of the nurses unplugged my wife o2 hose, ( my wife is on o2 - 24 hrs a day) went to do an errand, and my son had to plug it back in. He explained to her when she came back, that she was anxious and she had end stage Copd, and her answer was (she is still living and breathing. )Not acceptable! This is the black nurse,
Also my wife did not trust her in the shower, cause she said to my
