For most people, having their teeth cleaned is simple and painless. Yet, many still have misgivings about this basic and very important procedure. The prodding and poking, strange noises, and occasional jaw discomfort may cause a little apprehension, but knowing what will happen during the process can help ease your stress.
A root canal is a common, non-surgical dental procedure and can prevent the need for implants or bridges by saving a natural tooth that has become infected. At the center of the tooth is pulp, which is a soft collection of blood vessels and nerves. The pulp can become infected by deep decay, cracks or chips, or trauma to the tooth.
Fillings are a way to restore a tooth that has been damaged by decay or worn down from misuse such as tooth grinding. A filling will prevent further decay by preventing bacteria from entering and will restore your tooth back to its normal function. There are several types of materials used to fill teeth and we will suggest which best fits your needs based upon the extent of the repair, the area in your mouth where it is needed, and the cost.
A crown is a cover that is put over your tooth to restore it to its normal function and shape. Teeth are sometimes crowned to restore their function and sometimes to improve the way you look. You may need a crown if you have a cavity that is too large for a filling or a tooth that has been worn down or cracked or weakened.
Ashley graduated from Auburn High School but spent her childhood in Kazakhstan. She started in dentistry in 2001 and joined our practice in 2005. When you ask her what she likes about her job, Ashley will tell you that she absolutely loves teeth and meeting new people. Working in dentistry is the perfect place for her.

I have been with Dr. Moffitt’s dental practice since 2004. He has helped me with a root canal procedure, dental implant, and now regular cleanings and dental exams to assure everything stays healthy. His staff is professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. It’s a judgment free zone. You know you’re in good hands when you enter the office. Highly recommended.

Dr Moffitt, has been my dentist for years. Great service and care. I've been experiencing pain in right jaw. We tried to figure it. It was not tmj. After a year dack a forth with family Dr. Dr. Moffitt felt I needed cat scan. Family Dr. No so went valley medical center er. Had cat scan. .I had brain surgery 2 days later. Pains gone. Scott Moffitt gave me a few more special.months.😘jinx

Had the absolute BEST experience with Dr. Moffitt. He’s not like any other dentist out there. I’ve been trying to find a good dentist for years and I’m so happy i found him!!! I absolutely LOVE Dr. Moffitt and his amazing staff. I was referred by a coworker whose family has seen him for three generations.
