I had a significant amount of hair cut off this evening. The stylist was on time, if not early and super thorough! I was recommended to go here and won’t go anywhere else after today!!!! I’m thrilled with my haircut and am so glad I had an appt there!

I love the staff here, always soo friendly but also professional! Been coming here for a long time. During the covid scare hadn't been here in a long time, but was so elated to find that nothing has changed when I got back there today for my hair appt with Stacy!!

Went here for highlights and a cut. The highlights were pretty awful. A lot of the foils slipped, especially in the front and there were several hard lines around the front of my face where the bleach stopped and didn't reach the root. It was pretty embarrassing. My hair was also not toned. Then the cut...I asked for a straight across cut. All one length. There was no effort to actually cut all the hairs or make it straight. I went home and bleached the spots that were missed, TONED MY OWN HAIR, and I'm constantly finding pieces of hair that weren't cut and cutting them. Yikes!!

Kathleen new employee, was my hairstylist at a former business I used to go to that has closed/downsized... so I followed Kathleen 5 miles down the road to her new place of employment, because she has been consistent with my mens cut for 15+ years, and thats what its all about. I’m so blessed that Shirl had been recommended to me so many times. After visiting numerous hair salons in State College with a goal to achieve white hair- no one could/would be able to get my hair as white as it is now. I’ve spent thousands of dollars in total trying to obtain what I thought was too good to be true. My first time meeting with Shirl not only was she extremely kind and truly listened to my request but she is incredibly knowledgable and knew exactly what to do. Shirl attempted a route no other hair stylist had even thought to try. My hair is now entirely white with no yellow

When Stylists and Clients Clash
Although this may not be easy for either the client or the stylist to hear, the truth is both can have objectives or moods that simply clash. Maybe not always, but from time to… time tension can develop, and the goal is to defuse it—or to know when you have a mismatch and need to move on to someone else.
Ask your friends or salon employees who don't do hair and you'll often hear that stylists can be a sensitive, tricky group of artists. Oftentimes, ego gets in the way of reason—but there absolutely are stylists out there who are exceedingly talented

Best salon in the area, great work and reasonable prices. Shirl Schnarrs is an amazing Master Haircolorist. Her work matches big city salons.

My daughter picked a simple messy ponytail for her senior ball look, what she came out of there looking like was just awful. We literally left here and had to hunt down another salon to fix her hair on prom day, paying twice to salvage the mess she walked out with. I gave two stars… though because I saw some amazing updos from the other workers. They were fast, they didn’t stop in the middle of their clients to wash and blow dry another client. Normally this would be okay, but on prom day when the girls have tons to do

I've been going to Mane-Ly Hair my entire life, the staff really gets to know their customers and are very personable. Very professional and always do their best to understand what the client wants. Highly recommended.
