This site is designed to give you a sense of who I am and how I practice. Focus areas in my practice include relationship difficulties, loss, life-changes, interpersonal challenges, professional support, LGBTQ+/queer concerns, divorce support, pre-teen and adolescent challenges, anxiety, depression and more.
I celebrate diversity, which means I welcome you and families and relationships of every kind. After reading through these pages if you still aren't sure if your circumstances fit my practice, please feel free to reach out. I will let you know if I think I can be of help or if a therapist with a different background might be more useful for you.

Services
I am a licensed clinical social worker with advanced training in Gestalt, Family Systems and Psychoanalytic theory and practice. I received post-masters training at The Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training, The Ackerman Institute for the Family and The Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center.
If you're new to therapy you may be wondering what you're signing up for. Individual psychotherapy with me will be as short or long term as you wish and is always under the control of you the client. In my work I start from a fairly psychoanalytic stance but will include Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Gestalt approaches too.
My office is a safe space where everybody is heard. All are equally important. Relationship or family members will safely explore how they might shift their part of the relational 'system', freeing other members to respond differently too. We will work on communication skills, empathy, self-awareness, potential power adjustments and more.
Group psychotherapy is a powerful tool for change, uniquely able to assist people to find a sense of community, self and hope, even when things seem bleak. Joining a group can be a frightening prospect. Most people feel nervous at first. But when a group and a new member are the right match, the experience is deeply rewarding and can change lives.
All insurance plans that offer out-of-network coverage will also reimburse for a portion of my fee according to their particular policies. I provide statements suitable for this purpose. I ask that payments be made per session as ongoing balances can put pressure on the therapy. I accept personal checks, credit cards, and payments made via PayPal.
