Dr. Anthony earned his undergraduate degree with a double concentration in psychology and biology from Swarthmore College before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1991. He is constantly increasing his skill set and knowledge base through continuing education and has certifications in cosmetic and implant dentistry, endodontics and periodontics.

I have seen many, many dentists in my time (some ok, some not so ok) -- But the treatment, support, expertise demonstrated by the staff & Doctor (at GentleCare Dentistry) are the best - top drawer.. b/c I'm so "sensitive", I can be considered 'difficult' , however, Dr. Anthony & Assistants are caring, supportive & experienced with their line of work .. the 2nd visit I could actually relax ^_^ -- Great Group!

I was impressed with this office. They got me in for a cleaning right away. Lots of dentists are making new patients come back twice - once for the initial exam and a second time for a cleaning, often with a long wait for either or both appointments. GentleCare dentistry got it all done at once - exam, X-rays, cleaning - with an appointment right away. They were on time and I was in and out in less than an hour. The office staff (Cary) called my insurance and made sure they had the correct information at the time of my visit. Dr. Caballero was friendly and knowledgeable. Keep up the great

Dr. Anthony is a really good dentist. He is gentle caring and good guy overall. Anesthesia process went very smooth and painless. End result was great.
However, I can't say the same about one of his hygienist Christine. She was trying to save her time and was rushing through the process. After she was done she basically pushed me out to a waiting area although there was nobody ahead of me. She is not friendly and rough. Bad experience with my cleaning overall.
Previously I had my teeth cleaned with India. She is a real deal. She was warm gentle and friendly. I really liked her a lot.

Dr. Anthony successfully diagnosed the cause of my teeth pain right away, which couldn't be said for my previous dentist. I feel like I've spent a small fortune there but IMO it was money well spent as I no longer have pain when biting into food, which used to be a daily occurrence for me. The receptionists have always been kind and helpful, too.
I docked them a point because my experiences weren't perfect. But I think most others would give them 5 stars if they were in my shoes. I'm just one of those hard graders.

I have been going to this dentist for about 4 years and now my husband goes here as well. I live in Virginia and commute all the way to Germantown to go to Dr. Anthony--he is THAT good of a dentist. I have had 20+ fillings done by Dr. Anthony, during each of them he was frequently checking in to see if I needed breaks, if I needed more sedation, if everything was feeling okay, etc. In addition to being extremely good at his job, he is genuinely friendly and patient answering any questions you have about the procedure--what to expect, etc., and knows how to joke around and put people at ease before

Really terrible service. No respect for your time. My husband and I both had extremely frustrating/upsetting experiences with Dr. Anthony. I left the office in tears because the dentist didn't schedule enough time to see me for my fillings. I had taken off work to come to the dental appointment, and he just wouldn't see me and made the receptionist reschedule my appointment. Well, I'm not rescheduling with them. Time is so precious, and I don't need it wasted by someone that is making a lot of money off of me. Please, don't waste your time too by going here.

A few years ago I was on the hunt for a new dentist. I was so nervous about going I actually googled "Gentle Dentists in Germantown, MD " and came up with Dr. Anthony. Not only did he put all my fears at ease, he did fantastic work! My daughter and I both go to see him. From his front desk staff to his assistant they are all wonderful. I can't say nicer things about this office. I'm so grateful we found them.

I have been going to Dr. Anthony for a few years now. The rest of my family is now seeing him as well. I have had the misfortune of seeing a lot of dental health care doctors over the years to fix various problems I have been dealing with. I came to see Dr. Anthony after not being happy with my then current dentist who I had been seeing for years. I went to Dr. Anthony with a lot of pain and some missing teeth. Dr. Anthony and his assistant Elizabeth make a great team. They took great care with me and my apprehensiveness and resolved all of my problems. Together they treated me with gentleness

With all of these dental horror stories floating around, I consider myself lucky to have a dentist that is not only skilled but also trustworthy. Dr. Anthony and his entire staff are professional and competent. I have never been pressured to purchase any high cost procedures nor had any phantom cavities filled.
I know they take various forms of insurance but they offer a self-pay discount if you go that route and their rates seem reasonable enough (though I've been so happy that I haven't felt compelled to comparison shop for a few years).
