The Oregon High School Water Polo Committee (OHSWPC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization to promote, oversee and safely regulate high school water polo in Oregon. The committee is responsible for the championship tournaments, for defining rules of eligibility and participation, to resolve conflicts, and provide instructional opportunities for coaches and athletes.
The five Board of Directors are elected by the general membership body, and serve two-year staggered terms. They are responsible for implementing the rules and oversight of the championship tournament, with the help of the Executive Director who handles the day-to-day operations. If you want to comment about a game, it's officiating, or conduct of a particular team, coach, player or official, please communicate with your coach.
Water polo is a grueling game and one of extreme physical contact. It has been called "the most physically demanding and mentally challenging of all sports" by leading exercise physiologists. The sport combines swimming speed, ball handling skills and team play into a game that is played in an all deep pool.
We are excited to have KAP 7's continued support as the official ball of the Oregon State High School Water Polo. Based out of Bellevue, Washington - Northwest Designs Ink has been providing on site souvenir apparel for virtually all sports and recreational activities at all levels in all fifty states since 1983.
Participation in high school interscholastic athletic programs can will be some of the most enjoyable years of life. OSAA and OHSWP have standards that must be met in order to be eligible to compete. In addition, there may be local school and league standards that also apply. The eligibility standards of the OHSWP have been adopted by the member schools and were accepted by each school when it became a member of OHSWP.
