Services
De La Salle North Catholic High School serves a racially diverse population of capable, motivated and interested college-bound students from the Portland area who would not otherwise have access to a faith-based, rigorous college-preparatory education. De La Salle North Catholic High School provides a faith-based, college-preparatory high school education to underserved students from the Portland area.
Our mission is to provide an affordable, college preparatory, faith-based education to young men and women throughout the Portland metro area with limited financial resources. Over 325 years ago, St. John Baptist de La Salle, the founder of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and their schools, established the practice of providing a Christian education to the young, especially those who are most on the margins of society.
De La Salle North Catholic High School opened in 2001 to provide a faith-based, college preparatory high school education to underserved students from the Portland area. These families needed and wanted a viable and affordable choice of schools to send their student.
Other private high schools in and around Portland were not an option for most of them because of the cost and the distance their student would have to travel to go to school each day. They spoke out and said "put your school right here in our neighborhood." De La Salle was the first school to replicate the innovative Corporate Work Study Program pioneered by Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago.

A couple years after graduating I walked in to the career center at my college to get help putting the finishing touches on my resume in preparation for an upcoming career fair. The job counselor's jaw dropped when she saw a 22 year old kid with nationaly recognized companies like Xerox, Urban league of Portland, and PCC structurals on his resume. The best value private high school in the Portland metropolitan area. DLSNC is great school to be from. The CIP experience was invaluable in helping me make an educated decision in choosing my college major and career path and I wouldn't be where I am

College Preparation
My daughter attended this school, so my review is personal.
The goal of De la Salle is to prepare students for their next stage after high school. Whether it is two or four year college, based on the student. The care about the students that attend here, the community, and the companies that partner with them that allow students real workplace experience in exchange for tuition assistance.
This is a working school, meaning before your student has left here, they have had the opportunity to experience balancing school, work, and community outreach as a part of their life.
