Dr. Lori S. Weisenfeld, a renowned New York City sports podiatrist, has been treating athletes, dancers, and performers from around the world for over 25 years. She began her practice by joining her father, Dr. Murray F. Weisenfeld, author of The Runner's Repair Manual, who was an icon amongst injured runners in NYC.
With Dr. Murray as her mentor, she developed her own practice style while incorporating his insights, kindness and good humor into her care for each patient. She treats each patient with an understanding of their long term goals and with an eye on their immediate needs. You may also know Dr. Weisenfeld from her appearances on numerous network news shows including WABC, the WB network and on VH1's Can't Get A Date.

Dr. Weisenfeld is an amazing podiatrist. I have gone to her for years. She always solves my problems. Her molds for orthodics are excellent. This time, she relieved my peroneal tendinitis with a new orthotic. She also recommended an excellent physical therapist who I am so happy with. He couldn’t be better also.
You will never find a better doctor than Lori Weisenfeld.

I visited Dr. Weisenfeld in March, 2021 for a pain in my left foot. I have had this crippling pain for over twenty years and two doctors had failed to help me. Dr. Weisenfeld quickly diagnosed the problem and fitted me with longer orthopedic lifts that changed the pressure points in the ball of my foot. The lifts also changed my life. I am now pain free. And I can walk long distances. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Weisenfeld and her treatment as I thought that I would have to live with this disability for the rest of my life. And she also has a great staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Weisenfeld for many years and as always she makes my foot pain disappear. She is brilliant and kind and always knows exactly what is wrong very quickly and treats it perfectly. Yvonne at the front is awesome and made it easy to update my insurance and make an appointment. I highly recommend this office.

Spraining your ankle sucks, but spraining your ankle during the Post-Pandemic hot girl summer sucks more. Thank God for Dr W--she came up with a treatment plan for my sprain (after making sure it wasn't a fracture) including PT I can do at home, and gave me next steps in case the pain doesn't recede in a timely manner--which I appreciated, because I'm very much a planner.

Dr. Weisenfeld was so caring and thorough during my visit to her office. Her professionalism and knowledge made for a comforting experience. She provided me with multiple options for treating my ailment. My feet are the path to recovery. I highly recommend her for all your podiatry needs. Thank you Dr. Weisenfeld!

I have problematic feet, so I’ve been seeing Dr. Weisenfeld for about nine years now. She is THE BEST. Caring, knowledgeable, and funny - she goes straight to the problem and tells you all your options. If she knows someone better for a specific issue, she has no qualms with referring you to them. I would recommend her again and again.

Lori Weisenfeld is fantastic. She is knowledgeable, patient, kind and personable. I have been going to her for years for orthotics. When I recently had new pain in my foot, she immediately had my foot x-rayed, found an abnormality that missed standard x-ray positions and adjusted my orthotics accordingly.
My questions are always answered, no matter how needely or overly hypothetical. This is great cause medical stuff makes me nervous and I over think everything.
I highly reccomend her.

LOVE Dr. Weisenfeld! I have a bit of a complicated injury - nonunion of a bone in my foot - and I knew the podiatrist I had wasn't cutting it. He would barely talk to me, speed through the information he gave me, and make me feel uncomfortable asking questions - like I was wasting his time! Dr. Weisenfeld is the OPPOSITE of ALL of that! She is the best! She takes her time with me, answers all of my questions, and addresses all of my concerns. She gives me all of the treatment options and never makes me feel rushed or belittled like my old doctor did. Plus she's great during covid - everyone

Dr. Weisenfeld was referred to me by a co-worker. My right foot big toe had arthritis and the pain was very bad. She gave me two hydrocortisol shots at different times. I was not going for a third. I decided to have surgery after a year or two of seeing her. On April 7, 2017, she operated on me; cleaned out the arthritis, put in a screw, etc. After the surgery, recuperation was fine; however, after a few months and I was able to walk but I noticed I had pain in my second toe, bad. I went to her and she told me that the second toe takes up the "mechanism" of the first toe. Okayyyy

Terrible doctor. Misdiagnosed me 3 times. Did not thoroughly examine me on initial exam. Wanted to shoot cortisone into arthritis in top of foot. Pain was in ankle. Created "slipper" out of tape for me to wear for a week that should make it better.

Tried prescibing me a pain medicine that could potentially kill me (interacting w. a medication I already take) telling me "people take it anyway" and "can't I take something else?" so she didn't have to prescribe a controlled substance.
On 2nd vist when I was not better, she FINALLY allowed my request

I have extremely flat feet and have been coming to Dr. Weisenfeld for orthotics for years. She is always friendly, kind, and thorough. She treats athletes and non-athletes and never rushes, always patiently answering any questions I might have and explaining anything that's over my head. Her office is centrally located, which is convenient, whether I'm coming from home or work. I am surprised to see how few reviews reflect positive experiences with her, as I'd recommend her to anyone with any foot issues, but maybe Yelp just isn't the best forum for reviewing doctors.

DISCLAIMER: I did not see Lori Weisenfeld because she was not covered by my insurance.
However, when I first called to make the appointment I was told she took my insurance. When I got to the office at 9AM on Friday (after taking off from work) I was let in, and sat to wait for about 10 minutes even though there was no one else in the office. Then, when the assistant got around to taking my information, she rudely let me know that my insurance was not covered at this address but "might be" at another. Instead of calling the other location she just gave me the phone number and told

I am a very competitive tennis player so my feet take a beating after spending hours on the court. I have been treated by Dr. Lori for over 10 years for a wide variety of foot ailments...corns, callouses, strain tendons, bone bruises, etc. Not only does she effectively take care of business allowing me to spend even more hours on the tennis court, but she spends the time offering explanations with a professional, sensitive, and courteous demeanor. I have also found her office staff to be quite efficient as I rarely wait but a few moments for my appointment.

Beware, she is very aggressive when cutting corns and callous-- I have often left there with blood soaked bandages. She usually did manage to alleviate corns that grew under my pinky toe nail, however not without a lot of blood and pain during the process. But in a few weeks the small toe felt better. Last visit she cut so much callous off both my big toes that ( at this moment) three days after her doing so I can barely walk and wondering if it's infected. If not better tomorrow will go to urgent care. I had a recent sciatic back attack which was healing nicely. Now after awkward position

Dr. Weisenfeld is condescending and rude to all her patients and staff. While she does seem to be very knowledgeable, she doesn't impart much of that to her clients without a heavy dose of arrogance. I went to Dr. Weisenfeld for 7 months treating my injury, which never got better. I kept thinking I was catching her in a bad mood or on an off day, but no... she's just that awful.
There are plenty of doctors in this city who aren't painful to be around... my advice would be not to waste your time.
